Delta has released nonstop business class award space between JFK and Brussels, Frankfurt, or Zurich to their partner airlines.

Delta business class award space is always hard to find, but currently there are 9 or more seats available on many flights!

The best way to book it would be with 50K Virgin Atlantic miles one-way, a massive savings compared to the 375,000 miles that Delta Skypesos can charge when booked through them. There are no fuel surcharges for these flights if you book one-way or round-trip from the US. A one-way from Europe to the US would trigger fuel surcharges.

Through 11/15, you can get a 30% transfer bonus from Chase to Virgin Atlantic, so 39K Chase points would convert into 50.7K Virgin Atlantic miles and 77K Chase points would convert into 100.1K Virgin Atlantic miles, more than enough for a round-trip in business class.

Take your pick:

50K Virgin points:

73,500 Flying Blue miles:

375,000 Delta Skypesos:

Virgin charges the lower of taxes paid or $50 for award redeposits. Virgin miles never expire.

You can book awards on virginatlantic.com by selecting advanced search, and searching for points in Upper Class.

You can easily see the number of seats available one each date via these links:

Slightly unrelated, but does anyone know what United, Economy “Partially Refundable” Airline ticket means? What does the “Partially Refundable” mean? I tried searching their site, couldn’t come up with anything…would appreciate any advice-thank you!

Vinny

Transferred over points to Virgin from Chase. It’s been a couple hours, still nothing. How long does it usually take, I thought it’s instant.

Please keep us posted

Yosef

You can hold a fare on VA (I’ve done it before)

Vinny

Yes I did that. Points not transferred yet. Virgin said they’re having issues today.

Something is going on with transfers over at Chase. Five telephone calls and three full days later, my UR points have still not transferred to Hyatt. Every other transfer had been instant. Other reports of delays at Chase as well. I filed an escalation request.

Transferred points from chase to virgin- after I complete purchase of flight, it takes me back to flight selection. Is anyone else having this issue? Can’t reach anyone when I call Virgin either

Penina

If it’s a new account and first time transfer they sometimes freeze the account until you call . Once you get through it’s easy to unlock

Mindy

It worked! We had to speak to representatives at chase to transfer points to virgin and called virgin to book the flight, but it worked! Thank you.

I’m curious for myself- I only have Chase Freedom Unlimited card but can I send my points to my parents who have Sapphire Reserve and then they transfer it to virgin where I can get a flight for myself (not a Sapphire Reserve user?)

Penina
