Delta has released some nonstop business class award space between JFK and Berlin or Frankfurt to their partner airlines.

The best way to book it would be with 50K Virgin Atlantic miles one-way. There are no fuel surcharges for these flights if you book one-way or round-trip from the US. A one-way from Europe to the US would trigger fuel surcharges.

From Frankfurt or Berlin you can book travel elsewhere in Europe using miles with airlines with other, such as United.
