Target has launched their own Prime & Walmart+ competitor today, called Target Circle 360.

For those of us that have enjoyed free Shipt Membership over the past three years thanks to this deal, you can no longer use Shipt to get free same day delivery from Target.com or the Target app. You can still shop from Target on Shipt’s site, but sale prices seem to cheaper when ordering from Target directly and you can’t use Target gift cards or get a Target Circle card discount through Shipt.

It’s very frustrating that Target made this change without providing any advance warning!

You can sign up for a Circle 360 membership here for $49 through May 18th.

After that time, membership will cost $99/year, but you can still pay $49 with a Target Circle (formerly Red) card.

Circle 360 includes:

  • Unlimited Same day delivery on $35 orders.
  • Free 2 day shipping on most items from Target.
  • Access to the Shipt marketplace with free delivery from dozens of stores.
  • An extra 30 days on all returns.

Through 4/13, Target is celebrating the launch of Circle 360 with thousands of deals here!

Amazon and Costco are the reigning champions of paid shopping memberships. Walmart and Target have tried competing with them for years, experimenting with different paid membership options and benefits.

Walmart+ has success since its launch in September 2020, though its offered free with several credit cards like AMEX Consumer Platinum and AMEX Gold Business. Will Target Circle 360 be able to compete?

Will you signup for Target Circle 360?

Wait so this whole thing was just to kill our regular shipt usage? RIP

Mordechai

Really not cool that they killed shipt in the target app without any warning!

Dan

Yup, very frustrating!

Mk

I use Shipt for target 5-10 times a month. If you’re saying the prices are cheaper through 360 it may be worth the $49

yelped

I am switching to Walmart+ if this is not reverted for cheaper than Target prices.

Target customer

What does this mean for target customers without the subscription? In my experience their normal shipping is free for orders over $35 and it comes really quickly, usually in 2 days or less.
Is their standard shipping changing because of this new membership?

Michael

You can get feee year of target 360 if you are shipt user.

Dan

How?

xbox 360

if you had shipt through target, not through shipt.com, your membership changed automatically to 360 and renews on same date.

Dan, with shipt.com you were never able to get delivery through target.com you had to go through shipt website and then were not allowed to get points or return normally through target

Dan

Uh, false. I have been using Shipt free membership on Target.com since 2021.

Michael

When you go on target app there is a place that’s says meet the new target circle and you’ll see 3 new ways to save when you click that and scroll down you’ll see circle 360 with option to get complimentary subscription

Dan

Not free for me, but I only had the free Shipt membership.

Been There

I like Walmart+. I have Amazon and I use Instacart when I need to.
What benefits will I get from this that I am missing?
I have a costco membership as well (got it on one of those crazy sales)

R

Walmart + is the best

Zelig

I noticed that my Shipt account still indicates free delivery on orders over $35. However, can it be that this benefit still applies when using the Shipt app but more on target.com or the target app. with my linked account. Can someone please clarify if the free delivery offer on $35+ orders remains valid on shipt??

Royi

I can still do same day delivery on the target app using shipt

Dan

Did you have free Shipt?

ST

Me too. I have free Shipt.

ST

Nevermind, it worked until checkout, then it hit me up for the 360 membership.

Red

I have paid shipt and I just got this email

As part of the new Target Circle™, your Shipt membership is now part of a Target Circle 360™ membership. You’ll still get unlimited Same Day Delivery2, plus more great benefits.

Thinking Jew

Walmart + does a fine job. This is redundant (IMO)

Had the free Shipt thru visa for a while now, I probably order 2-5x per week. Pretty obnoxious to cancel it without warning. I’m still gonna pay $49 for it, but surprising move from Target

a

If you order 2-5 times a week that puts it between 20 cents and 50 cents an order for a 360 membership and you won’t pay that?

jonny

I literally said I will still pay the $49 for it. Just don’t like how they abruptly cancelled my membership.

Dave

Sorry, but nothing competes with Amazon prime.

Eli

Shipt was good for getting an order in when time was important and you don’t want to pay a markup. Walmart plus can be 7-9 hours if you do not pay the expedite fee and instacart doesn’t have in store prices.

Joe1234

I paid for shipt membership and got an email for a complimentary year of target 360

jking

FYI, shipt is still running the logistics, I placed an order with a free 14 day trial of Circle 360 and got text updates from Shipt.
Also, i saw you can get shipt for $49 a year by opening a reloadable target circle card which is free (no credit check) and you’ll get a $50 credit on your first purchase using the card of over $50

Interesting how people who were getting a free Shipt (a Walmart+ equivalent) via a Visa card are suddenly are upset that Target (owner of Shipt) decided that giving away that service wasn’t a good idea.

FYI – you still get free shipt – You just can’t use it at Target.

Yitzy

I know, right? We should all just be thankful to the benevolent owners of Target who for years displayed such goodwill for poor Visa cardholders and so generously gifted them with an unsolicited membership in a delivery system that didn’t earn them both a premium and an influx of customers.

What degenerates we all are!

I won’t and don’t buy from “woke” businesses when alternatives exist. When this company started carrying clothing lines that essentially encouraged and supported cross-dressing and “gender fluidity” for grade school kids, I invoked Pesach and said “Dayenu”. Like when a friend told me his granddaughter had a school playmate named HIJKMNO, and I asked him what kind of name was that? And he told me, “Its American, and it’s pronounced ‘Noelle’.” Dayeynu….

Zach

In my humble opinion, the main thing is that with this you are still expected to tip the shopper, with Walmart+ and Prime Same Day shipping you don’t need to calculate the cost of tipping into the total of the shopping trip

Katie

This isn’t true. I spoke with customer service today, and if you have a current Shipt membership, you get the order delivery part of 360 at no additional cost until your current Shipt membership expires.

Dan

Do you have a paid or free Shipt membership?
