Flour is chometz most of the time. If the grains contact water and begin to sprout, which is the case in much of the grain in America, it would have a din of chometz according to most. There is a reason why Matzo bakeries only use wheat from Arizona, Oregon, or Washington. It’s because it’s extremely dry there and it usually doesn’t rain during the harvest period.
I just got an email from Amazon indicating “a potential safety issue regarding certain product(s)” and noting the gold Medal Bleached All Purpose Flour.
No specific information in the email about the safety issue, and no indication as to whether Amazon refunded the purchase price (which was all of $2.00, IIRC).
This deal was posted on DD a few times in the past few weeks.
