That is very impotent to know, still, unfortunately, lots of people are not aware of it.
Every FLAVORED product needs to have a secure and trustable Hechsher!!! More than lots of other food!!
Regards to floss-picks, I checked with two Kaashrus Rabonim, and both recommended me to stick to the unflavored, as long there is no Hechsher on them!
