Skip the lines when returning to the US and get Pre-Check included as well. Pre-Check allows you to keep your shoes and jacket on, skip the nude-o-scope, and leave your laptop in the bag.  It makes traveling a whole lot easier.

5. A 4th night free on all paid hotel stays. When you make a hotel reservation of 4 or more nights you’ll get the 4th night of the reservation rebated back to your for free. The rates will be the same as on the hotel website and the rates do qualify for hotel elite status and points. Note that the 4th night of the stay will be the rebated night. In some cases the 4th night may cost significantly more or less than the rest of the nights, so always check to see the actual rate for each night. There is no limit to how many times you can take advantage of this offer. You need to use your Prestige card, but you get triple points for hotel spending, so that’s not a bad thing.

6. 3 free rounds of golf per calendar year. You can search for courses here and make reservations here. That’s 6 free rounds of golf in your first cardmembership year.

Getting more than one Citi card and repeat bonuses:

Citibank doesn’t generally allow 2BMs anymore, though some people have reported success. You can apply for one card, wait 8 days, and then apply for another Citi card. You would have to wait 60 days from the date of your first card application before you can apply for a 3rd Citi card and 60 days from the date of your second card application before you can apply for a 4th Citi card.

Most Citi card applications now require an 24 month waiting period from when you last had that exact card before you can get the signup bonus again.

Citi phone reconsideration (888-201-4523) can be tough if denied, but many people (myself included) have had great luck reconsidering via snail mail! Just write a short letter explaining why you want the card to: Mr. Ken Stork, Office of the President, PO Box 6000, Sioux Falls, SD 57117

Is There Still Time To Buy Starpoints To Join JetBlue’s Epic 75K Promotion?

Before reading the post below, please read these posts for background information:

Should You Buy Or Transfer Starpoints To Join The Most Lucrative JetBlue Promotion Of All Time?

-It’s Time To Mileage Run! Earn Up To 75K Bonus JetBlue Points After Just 1 Round-Trip If You Have Or If You Transfer Points To Virgin America!

I’ve been flooded with questions from people asking me if there’s still time to participate in the JetBlue promotion if they haven’t started yet.

Now that we have confirmation that the promotion is being fully honored, we’re nearing the end of the road if you still want to get in on the fun. There is still time to buy Starpoints and transfer them to Virgin America by July 4th, but that window of opportunity is closing.

If you have 40,001 Starpoints you would need to transfer them to Virgin America by Sunday to receive them by Monday in order to email JetBlue to enroll in this promotion by the July 4th deadline.

You can transfer Starpoints into anyone’s Virgin America account. If you have enough points you can transfer points to your spouse and children to enroll all of them in this promotion.

If you have at least 10,001 Starpoints you’ll have until Sunday to buy enough Starpoints to transfer 40,0001 points to Virgin America so that it’s in the the account by Monday to be matched by JetBlue.

Once you buy Starpoints you can transfer Starpoints to Virgin America even if they don’t show as available in your SPG balance.

If you don’t have 10,001 Starpoints then you’ll need to buy Starpoints in 2 different Starwood accounts (as there is a 30K annual purchase limit per account) and make transfers from both of those Starwood accounts to Virgin America are at least 24 hours apart from each other. Those Starwood accounts can be in anyone’s name. In this scenario you’ll want to buy those points ASAP to start the first of those 2 transfers from Starwood to Virgin America now, as you’ll need to wait 24 hours before that Virgin America account can receive another Starpoint transfer.

You don’t need a JetBlue Plus card or a Starwood AMEX to participate in this promotion, but having a JetBlue card will make your 75K JetBlue bonus points more valuable as well as provide free checked bags among other benefits, and using a Starwood card to buy Starpoints will net 2 Starpoints per dollar spent.

Is JetBlue Attempting To Retroactively Change Their Promotion Terms?

Update #3: JetBlue has officially confirmed to me that they will be fully honoring this promotion.

Update #2: I haven’t heard anything back officially from JetBlue, but several DDFers who did receive denial emails and were told in their original phone calls that the promo terms were changing have been able to HUCA and get registered over the phone.

I also called JetBlue several times and the reps all confirmed that the program is still going and that you actually can book 2 one-way tickets and you can book travel before being registered, as seen in writing here. So be sure to take advantage the JetBlue sale ending tonight.

Gary has also reached out to JetBlue for comment but has also not heard back from them. At this point though I’m inclined to chalk up the denial reports to some incorrect rejections on JetBlue’s end and some incorrect submissions from users.

There have also been several reports of registration confirmation after the meeting that JetBlue had earlier this afternoon about the promotion, so it seems like everything should be good to go, aside from some very rogue phone reps.

If you have been denied you should definitely call JetBlue and keep calling back until they are able to get you registered over the phone.

Be sure that you attach a screenshot from a non-mobile device and that it shows your Virgin America point balance twice when you email JetBlue or else your match will be denied.

Note that some people have reported 6 day waits for registration confirmation while others have been confirmed is as little as 30 minutes. Go figure.

There is still time to buy Starpoints and transfer them to Virgin America, see all of the related posts above for more information.

And don’t forget that you have until tonight to match your other airline elite status to JetBlue.

If there was ever a promotion that appears too good to be true, it’s this one. But hopefully it stays alive through Monday as originally promised.

Update #1: There have been several more reports of match approvals and denials, so it’s hard to say what’s going on for sure. JetBlue is reportedly huddling now to determine what exactly to do about this promotion. Clearly they didn’t expect the thousands of applications for hundreds of millions of miles that they have received, though it’s pretty shocking that they didn’t foresee that.

In the meantime, if you have transferred points from Starwood to Virgin America, it would probably be best to call Starwood to have that transfer stopped, as once it completes it can’t be reversed. If you already have Virgin America points and haven’t yet emailed JetBlue for a match you should do that ASAP.

Once again for the umteenth time, this shows that good things come to those who act quickly.

I’ve reached out to JetBlue and will update this post again when more information is available.

It’s also worth pointing out this email received by DDF member bornsub. In it the JetBlue rep tells him that 2 one-ways will qualify (as I surmised on DDF a few days ago) and that any travel booked on or after June 24th will qualify as well. Numerous phone reps have also confirmed that 2 one-ways will work. Of course officially the terms state that a round-trip is required (though JetBlue stated that a multi-city works as well) and that you must book a ticket after receiving registration confirmation for the promotion.

Last Friday JetBlue launched a promotion that is easily their most lucrative ever, offering 75,000 points for taking a single JetBlue flight if you have 50,001 Virgin America points.

I pointed out that it can definitely make sense to buy and/or transfer Starpoints to Virgin America to participate in the promotion.

JetBlue has been inundated with emails from people requesting to participate and thousands have already been approved. I was approved soon after I submitted my request on Friday.

-But DDF member rileywiles23 has just reported that he got an email saying that he didn’t qualify, despite his screenshot showing that he had 50,001+ Virgin America miles.

He called JetBlue and was told that they have added a clause that the points must have been earned via Virgin America flights. That clause is not listed on their website.

DDF member davidmal reports that they made an exception for him and enrolled him over the phone, but the rep stated that going forward applications will be denied if the points didn’t come from Virgin America flights.

DDF member sruly also was denied registration via email as “The points balance proof you provided doesn’t meet the requirements of the promotion.”

DDF member lfas25 reports that he was successfully matched 20 minutes ago, so the denials seem to be brand new. Or perhaps some reps are still working under the old terms?

It would be fair if JetBlue published new terms and stated the requests sent after the new terms were published will be denied. But it’s patently unfair to publish one set of terms and then change them without warning.

If you transferred points to Virgin America and have been denied via email and by phone you should file a complaint immeditately with the US DoT and explain exactly what happened. Be sure to explain that you transferred points to Virgin America based on JetBlue’s published terms of the promotion and that the transfer can’t be reversed. Include screenshots of the promotion terms as well as denials from JetBlue.

If you were already approved then I’d assume you are safe. But JetBlue appears to be playing dirty pool here, so who knows…

Roundup Of Airline And Hotel Elite Status Match And Challenge Offers

51

Update, 6/29: Tomorrow is the final day to apply for a JetBlue status match.

It was originally supposed to expire on 5/31, but on June 1st they extended it through 6/30. Of course it’s always possible that it will be extended again.

Originally posted on 5/4/16:

American Express is a DansDeals.com advertiser.

If you have elite status in an airline or hotel program you can often leverage that for an outright match or a challenge that can give status for a short period of time that can be extended if you meet a flight or stay requirement. Some airlines only allow this once in a lifetime, while others allow it every year.

AirBerlin
Will match to Silver (OneWorld Ruby) or Gold (OneWorld Sapphire). Status lasts for 12 months days and will be extended if you meet a flight challenge requirement within those 12 months.

-Alaska
Will match AeroMexico, Air Canada, American, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, Jet Blue, Southwest, United, and Virgin
America to MVP, MVP Gold, or MVP Gold 75K, all of which also have flight benefits when flying American or Delta. Email proof of competing status and a driver’s licence to elite.flyer@alaskaair.com

-American offers a paid challenge for Gold and Platinum status that you enroll in by calling 888-697-5636. The price for the Gold challenge varies between $100-$140 and the price of the Platinum challenge varies between $180-$200 depending on when you sign up. Status may start right away or may only start after you complete a flight challenge requirement within 3 months. If you have status on another airline that may help with getting status right away, but you don’t need status to enroll in the challenge. If you enroll by 6/15/16 and complete the flight challenge the status will expire 2/28/17. If you enroll after 6/15/16 and complete the flight challenge the status will expire 1/31/18.

Delta
Will match Alaska, American, or United status to Silver, Gold or Platinum. Status lasts for 90 days and will be extended if you meet a flight challenge requirement within those 90 days.

JetBlue
Will match Alaska MVP/MVP Gold, American Plat/EXP, Delta Gold/Plat/Diamond, Emirates Silver/Gold/Plat, Southwest A-List/CP, United Gold/Plat/1K, or Virgin Silver/Gold to Mosaic. Status lasts for 2016 and will be extended for 2017 if you meet a flight challenge requirement within 90 days.

Turkish
Will match or challenge to Elite (Star Alliance Gold) or Gold (OneWorld Sapphire). Challenges last for 4 months and can be extended to a year with a Turkish flight, matches last for 2 years. Contact via this form and click on new feedback>Miles & Smiles>Request>Membership Processing and send a copy of your elite status card and statement or account history.

United
Will match American or Delta status to Silver, Gold or Platinum. Status lasts for 90 days and will be extended if you meet a flight challenge requirement within those 90 days.

Virgin America
Will match American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, or United to Silver or Gold. Status lasts for 90 days and will be extended if you meet a flight challenge requirement within those 90 days.

Hilton
Will match status from other hotels up to top-tier Diamond. Status lasts until 3/31/18.

-Hyatt
Will match Starwood Platinum to Hyatt Diamond and may match other status. Email goldpassport@hyatt.com with proof of status and your Hyatt number.

-Starwood
Will offer a challenge to obtain Gold or Platinum status, email platinum.liaison@starwoodhotels.com

Cards like The Platinum Card and the The Business Platinum Card offer free Gold status in Hilton and Starwood without any match required.

In the past there have been opportunities to get status instantly and use it to match to another airline or to get car rental status instantly and match that as well. So it’s always worth looking for the next opportunity to get status the easy way.

Then you have programs like El Al. They won’t match American status, but will be happy to match Continental or USAirways status 😉

What programs have you matched to?

WalMart ShippingPass Now Offering A Free 30 Day Trial

16

WalMart ShippingPass has been good to me. Last year I posted a deal to get ShippingPass for just $1. It turned out that WalMart was still beta testing the program, so they gave a $50 gift card to everyone who enrolled in the $1 offer.

ShippingPass recently went public and they improved the shipping speed from 3 day to 2 day while dropping the price to $49/year.

Effective today you can join with a free 30 day trial of the program. After the trial you’ll be charged $49/year if you don’t cancel.

In another classy gesture, if you already joined Walmart will extend your membership for another 30 days for free.

I like that it’s only focused on free 2 day shipping on all items. I wish Amazon Prime would launch a competing product at a similar price point without the Prime video, music, and cloud storage features…

American Express is a DansDeals.com advertiser.

JetBlue is offering their most lucrative promotion of all time with bonus points if you have Virgin America Elevate points and fly on JetBlue:

b63

So for the cost of a $66 round-trip flight on JetBlue you can earn 75K bonus points, on top of the regular points you’ll earn from the paid flight.

You need to email JetBlue a screenshot of your Virgin America point balance, name, and member number (along with your JetBlue member number) by 7/4 to participate. Be sure to send a screenshot from a non-mobile device and include your Virgin point balance that occurs twice on the screen as shown here:

virgin2

After getting confirmation from JetBlue, you just need to book and fly on any paid roundtrip or multi-city trip on JetBlue by 8/31 to earn 75K bonus JetBlue points as shown in the chart above!

The bonus points will post within 4-6 weeks after the flight.

What are those 75K JetBlue points worth?

If you have (or will open) a JetBlue Plus World Elite Mastercard then 75K points will be worth $1,200-$1,425 of JetBlue flights. Otherwise those points will be worth $1,125-$1,275 of JetBlue flights.

If you do participate it’s definitely worth signing up for the card for the 30K signup points, 10% rebate whenever you use points, 9-17 points per dollar on JetBlue, free checked luggage, 5,000 bonus points on every card anniversary, $100 cash back annually for spending $100+ on a JetBlue vacation, a 50% rebate for in-flight purchases, and no foreign transaction fees. If you spend $50K annually on the card you’ll also get Mosaic status which includes free changes and cancellations on JetBlue tickets for the Mosaic member and for everyone on their itinerary, 2 free checked bags, 15K bonus points for earning Mosaic status every year, free even more speed checkin and security access, early boarding, 3 additional points per dollar spent, free alcoholic beverages onboard, and a dedicated Mosaic 24/7 customer service line.

JetBlue points never expire. JetBlue also allows families to pool their points together.

What if you don’t have Virgin America points?

You can transfer Starpoints to Virgin America in less than 24 hours at a 20K:25K ratio. Even if you have no Virgin points currently, a transfer of 40,001 Starpoints would give you 50,001 Virgin America Elevate points to qualify for the highest offer.

Points also transfer from Citi or AMEX to Virgin America, but at a paltry 2:1 ratio rather than the 20K:25K ratio that Starwood offers.

Is it worth doing a transfer from Starwood?

Virgin America has a very valuable mileage currency. There are examples in this post and in this post. 50K points will be worth between $1,100-$1,400 of Virgin America flights. Or you can use points on partners like Singapore for a round-trip flight from JFK to Frankfurt for 20K points or Los Angeles to Tokyo for 40K points. There are great values for travel on Hawaiian and Virgin Australia as well.

Virgin points will never expire if you earn or use at least 1 point every 18 months.

If you get $1,200 of flights from those 50K Virgin points that came from 40K Starpoints, that’s a value 3 cents per Starpoint, a very solid deal by itself without the JetBlue promotion. Throw in the JetBlue promotion and it’s even more lucrative as 40K Starpoints plus a $66 JetBlue flight can turn into $1,200 of Virgin flights and $1,300 of JetBlue flights, a value of over 6 cents per Starpoint.

Don’t have Starpoints?

You can earn Starpoints on the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express and on the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express.

Starwood normally sells Starpoints for 3.5 cents each, but you can buy Starpoints for 30% off through 7/1.  With this sale they are just 2.45 cents each. Points typically post to your account within an hour and you’ll need to logout and login to see them. Some people have reported that they were able to transfer purchased points to Virgin America even before they showed in their account balance.

If you you have 20,001 Starpoints already you can buy another 20K for $490 with this sale and then transfer them into 50,001 Virgin America points as 20,000 Starpoints converts into 25,000 Virgin America points and 40,000 Starpoints converts into 50,000 Virgin America points.

There is an annual maximum purchase of 30K Starpoints per account, so if you need 40K or 40,001 Starpoints you’ll need to have a friend buy Starpoints as well.

That friend can then transfer points into your Virgin America account. However you can only make 1 transfer to a Virgin America account per 24 hour period, so after transferring 20K (or 20,001+ points) from one Starwood account to Virgin America, you’ll need to wait 24 hours to do the 2nd transfer.

Is it worth it?

A round-trip JetBlue flight can be had for under $100 and even if you need to purchase the full 40K Starpoints for $980 or 40.5K Starpoints for $992 it’s still a great deal as you’ll wind up with points that are good for about $1,200 of Virgin America flights and about $1,300 of JetBlue flights.

It’s Time To Mileage Run! Earn Up To 75K Bonus JetBlue Points After Just 1 Round-Trip If You Have Or If You Transfer Points To Virgin America!

161

Update, 6/28:

I remember when JetBlue cried foul back when American attacked them in 2004 with $69 nonstops from JFK and Chicago to Long Beach and launched their AVBOS/AVNYC promotion, which offered a free round-trip ticket to anywhere in the world if you flew twice on American from Boston or JFK to Florida or California. I got 8 free systemwide tickets with that promotion and used 1 voucher to fly free from Sao Paulo to Tokyo with stopovers in Dallas, JFK, Los Angeles and Miami.
12 years later JetBlue has launched their most generous promotion in response to losing the bidding war for Virgin America.

-I sent in and got my match confirmation right away, but JetBlue got bogged down quickly and they are playing catch-up to respond to people. Keep checking your email for your registration confirmation and post a comment about when you registered and if you received confirmation yet.
-Multi-city itineraries (like JFK-Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach-JFK do count for this promotion.
-Officially, tickets booked before registration and 2 one-way tickets won’t count, though it’s possible that the system would credit the points anyway.
-The name on your SPG account does not need to match the name on the Virgin account and nearly all transfers have been completed in less than 24 hours. You can only make 1 transfer to a Virgin America account per 24 hour period.

Earn Up To 75K JetBlue Points After 1 Round-Trip If You Have Or If You Transfer Points To Virgin America!

JetBlue is offering bonus points for flying 1 round-trip flight if you have Virgin America Elevate points as follows:

b63

You need to email JetBlue a screenshot of your Virgin America point balance, name, and member number (along with your JetBlue member number) by 7/4 to participate. You can transfer Starpoints to Virgin America in just 1 day, so even if you have no points currently, a transfer of 40,001 Starpoints would give you 50,001 Virgin America Elevate points to qualify for the highest offer.

You can earn Starpoints on the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express and on the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express.

You can also buy Starpoints for 30% off currently. Normally they cost 3.5 cents each, but with this sale they are just 2.45 cents each.

You can have a friend buy Starpoints as well and transfer them to your Virgin America account to get to the full 50,001 Virgin America points.

Points also transfer from Citi or AMEX to Virgin America, but at a paltry 2:1 ratio rather than the 20K:25K ratio that Starwood offers.

After emailing JetBlue and getting confirmation you just need to book and fly on any paid roundtrip on JetBlue by 8/31 to earn 75K bonus JetBlue points as shown in the chart above!

The bonus points will post within 4-6 weeks after the flight. The bonus points are in addition to the regular points you’ll earn from the paid flight.

Don’t have anywhere to fly? It can definitely be worth taking a mileage run to earn 75K points.

For example you can fly in and out of Boston from JFK for $120 or from Newark for $116.

b64

Or you can fly from Newark to Boston for $102 round-trip if you spend the night:

b65

What are these points worth?

Virgin America points:

Virgin America points will never expire, as long as you earn or redeem a point every 18 months.

Here’s a look at what your points will be worth for various one-way Virgin flights (Prices were researched on 6/24 and will fluctuate). Note that Starpoint rates listed below are assuming that you maximize the 25% point bonus for transferring Starpoints in blocks of 20,000 points (which you may or may not be able to do depending on the number of passengers, so you may have leftover miles):
1. Los Angeles to Las Vegas on 7/12 is $38.10 or 1,173 Virgin points (about 938 SPG)+$5.60. That’s a value of 2.78 cents per Virgin point (38.10-5.60/1,173) and 3.46 cents per Starpoint.
2. Newark to Los Angeles on 8/17 is $138.10 or 6,056 Virgin points (about 5,236 SPG)+$5.60. That’s a value of 2.18 cents per Virgin point and 2.72 cents per Starpoint.
3. Chicago to Los Angeles on 8/23 is $128.10 or 5,568 Virgin points (about 4,454 SPG)+$5.60. That’s a value of 2.2 cents per Virgin point and 2.75 cents per Starpoint.

The exact point requirements will vary based on the price of the Virgin flights, but those are some pretty sweet values!

You can also redeem points on partner airlines and you can view rates via this link.
Partners include Hawaiian, Singapore, and Virgin Australia with low or no fuel surcharges and Emirates or Virgin Atlantic with high fuel surcharges.

For example:
-A roundtrip from JFK nonstop to Frankfurt on Singapore is just 20K Virgin miles (about 16K SPG) in coach.
-A roundtrip from JFK nonstop to Honolulu on Hawaiian is 35K Virgin miles (about 28K SPG) in coach or 80K Virgin miles (about 64K SPG) in business.
-A roundtrip from JFK nonstop to London on Virgin Atlantic is 15K Virgin miles+$475 (about 12K SPG) in coach, 25K Virgin miles+$790 (20K SPG) in premium economy, or 35K Virgin miles+$1,150 (about 28K SPG) in upper class, Virgin’s version of business class with an on-board bar with access to their highly-rated clubhouse lounges.
-A roundtrip from Los Angeles nonstop to London on Virgin Atlantic is 25K Virgin miles+$475 (20K SPG) in coach, 30K Virgin miles+$790 (about 24K SPG) in premium economy, or 50K Virgin miles+$1,150 (40K SPG) in upper class.
-A roundtrip from Los Angeles or San Francisco nonstop to any of the Hawaiian islands on Hawaiian is 20K Virgin miles (about 16K SPG) in coach or 50K Virgin miles (40K SPG) in business.
-A roundtrip from San Francisco to Hong Kong or Seoul on Singapore is just 40K Virgin miles (about 32K SPG) in coach.
-A roundtrip from Los Angeles to Tokyo on Singapore is just 40K Virgin miles (about 32K SPG) in coach.
-A roundtrip from Los Angeles to Sydney on Virgin Australia is just 40K Virgin miles (about 32K SPG) in coach, 60K Virgin miles (about 48K SPG) in premium economy, or 80K Virgin miles (about 64K SPG) in business class.

JetBlue points:

-If you open a JetBlue Plus World Elite Mastercard you’ll get a 10% rebate whenever you use points, making the 75K points worth more than 82K points. Plus you’ll get 9-17 points per dollar on JetBlue, free checked luggage, 5,000 bonus points on every card anniversary, $100 cash back annually for spending $100+ on a JetBlue vacation, a 50% rebate for in-flight purchases, and no foreign transaction fees.

-JetBlue points never expire. JetBlue also allows families to pool their points together.

Here’s a look at what your points will be worth for various one-way JetBlue flights (Prices were researched on 6/24 and will fluctuate).
1. Chicago to JFK on 7/26 is $78.10 or 4.8K points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.51 cents per point (78.10-5.60/3,700). JetBlue Plus cardholders would effectively pay 4,320 points, a value of 1.68 cents per point.
2. JFK-Los Angeles on 8/22 is $138.10 or 9.2K points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.44 cents per point. JetBlue Plus cardholders would effectively pay 8,220 points, a value of 1.61 cents per point.
3. Long Beach-Las Vegas on 7/4 is $43.10 or 2.2K points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.7 cents per point. JetBlue Plus cardholders would effectively pay 1,980 points, a value of 1.89 cents per point.

In summary, you can expect a value of at least 2.2 cents per point from Virgin America points on their flights, so 20K Starpoints would earn at least $550 of Virgin America flight. Or you can redeem 20K Virgin America points for a round-trip flight to Europe!

That’s a very compelling use of Starpoints alone due to the 25% bonus for transferring points which will make your Starpoints worth at least 2.75 cents each. That’s more than Starpoints cost to buy with the current sale.

If you are also flying JetBlue by August, or if you want to take a mileage run for about $120, you can parlay those Virgin America points into another 75K JetBlue points that can be worth 1.5-1.7 cents each if you’re not a cardholder ($1,125-$1,275 of JetBlue flights) or 1.6-1.9 cents each if you are a cardholder ($1,200-$1,425 of JetBlue flights).

If you have no Virgin America points, then transferring 40,001 Starpoints would earn you 50,001 Virgin America points (At least $1,100 in Virgin America flights or 2.5 round-trips to Europe) and 75K bonus JetBlue points ($1,125-$1,425 in free JetBlue flights in addition to the points that you’ll earn from the JetBlue flight) after taking 1 paid round-trip JetBlue flight.

Originally posted on 6/17:

Chase United cardholders and United elite members can book travel between the US and Europe for as low as 45K miles round-trip on United.com.

I’ll bump this post when the sale is open to the general public.

Not the most exciting sale as it’s only valid on United and only in coach, but this might be useful for some.

If you see dates showing 22.5K in coach, then you’ve found saver award space.

-You can book a round-trip or an open jaw with the discounted rates.
Examples of an “open jaw” include a flight from Newark to London on 9/11 and then back from Amsterdam to Newark on 9/18 is 45,000 miles plus $49 tax.
A flight from Los Angeles to London on 01/25 and then back from Zurich to Newark on 02/08 is 45,000 miles plus $59 tax.

You can still use 4,500 BA Avios for a one-way flight in Europe.

Rules:
-Round-trip travel is required.
-Book by 6/28.
-Travel 8/23/16-3/31/17
-Blackout dates: 12/15/16-1/8/17.
-Discounted Saver Award is valid only for travel between the U.S. (excluding Hawaii) or Canada, and Europe.
-Valid only on United, not on partner airlines.
-Valid for travel to/from the US48, Alaska and Canada to/from Europe.
-Valid for coach saver awards only.
-Stopovers are not permitted.

If you have 1 segment that falls within the promo dates it will be discounted, even if the outbound or return segment doesn’t fall within the promo window.
