As previously reported, Virgin Atlantic will start to fly to Tel Aviv on 9/25.

Tickets are now available for sale.

Virgin will operate the London-Tel Aviv flight on an A330-300 with 31 lie-flat aisle access “upper class” business seats in a 1-1-1 configuration, 38 premium economy seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and 185 economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration.

You can fly on Virgin Atlantic to London from Atlanta, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, NYC/JFK, NYC/EWR, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC/IAD and connect from London to Tel Aviv.

You can transfer miles from AMEX, Chase, Citibank, or Marriott to Virgin Atlantic, though they do collect fuel surcharges on award tickets for their own flights. However there are often transfer bonuses from AMEX and Citibank to Virgin Atlantic and they Virgin Atlantic also has award sales that may make this a worthwhile redemption, so stay tuned for those.

You can also transfer miles from AMEX or Marriott to Delta to book travel on Virgin Atlantic with no fuel surcharges.

See this post for credit cards that can transfer miles to Delta or Virgin Atlantic.

For now, availability is excellent in all classes of service. You can search for availability on VirginAtlantic.com or Delta.com.

On Delta.com, just search for the VS flights via LHR. In business class, that’s far superior to connecting in Europe on Delta’s other partners, which don’t have lie-flat seats from Europe to Tel Aviv.

shapsam

They also fly from EWR.

j fried

yes but it’s not preferred route because the stopover in Heathrow Airport will be to long then to fly from JFK then stopover 1 1/2 hours till the flight to tel aviv

mike

how are the cash fares, maybe some great hybird miles rates

dave

I also was wondering why EWR was left out?

Sol

Wasn’t left out – but when searching on VS you have to put JFK/EWR as NYC won’t work

Davidthebest

If there is availability on VA but don’t show up on delta’s site. Would it still be bookable over the phone with delta?

Jacob

It says in title 75k? Also what are the taxes. & fees r/t jfk-tlv

dave

if Virgin Atlantic has award space using Delta miles why can you just use Delta miles on Delta flights dont partners have the saw award space?

Gary

This is gonna be like BA… Wide open space because taxes are insane.

Sol

If VS points – Wil use as 2 one way’s as it’s a no brainer to pay more in taxes.
Best is DL points.
THe TLV-LHR_NYC is better timing as only 2n half hour stop then the otherway mostly 6hr stop.
Finally another FLAT BED Business ffrom EUROPE to TLV besides Swiss n BA.

BubbyK

Turkish Air and LOT both have “real” business class seats, as does El Al.
You are not limited to Swiss and BA.

as2

There are direct flights JFK-TLV or ORD-JFK-TLV for 43k DL in October. Sure beats a stop in London.

CtownBin

Is it possible to connect from other cities, with a Delta domestic leg, and pay the same rates? For example, CLE-JFK-LHR-TLV?

Jay

Hi Dan,
Can you also post mileage rates for flight from London to TLV, all those options for the London folks?

Not being lazy here but you have a nice way to break it down and can always search it on the records when needed.

Thanks

b

What is deltas cancellation policy?

Moish

Can someone tell me how to use delta points with virgin atlantic? Do I need call up virgin Atlantic or something to book it?

Gary

I can’t find any nonstop TLV-LHR space on Delta site. I’m not sure if I’m crazy or not.

Gary

ETA: it’s actually only available married, from what I can see. :-\ We need a good divorce lawyer.

Ari

Hey Dan, have you flown Virgin to London in business class before? How would you review it? Thanks! Love the site, cannot believe what you put up with so nicely in the comments.

Julien

It’s decent but not amazing. I’ll take lie flat all day, but compared to some of the other products it’s definitely in need of a refresh.

Losram

Please write pricing for flight from TLV to London and back.

Thanks

Julien

It’s also worth noting that VA has a better lap infant policy by charging 10% of the fare in points, while Delta charges 10% of the paid fare.

pes

economy and premium economy has to be the best deal imo , because your buying back 59k points for 547 dollarsin premium and elal round trip premium economy is 126 plus whatever extras they charge, as opposed to business.. however even if it is 100 dollars cheaper then united and elal you still need to stopover that being said are there long options for stopovers in london that you could book on an award ticket?

DanFan

Is there any way to transfer Hilton Points to Virgin Atlantic?

jack

i got 3 roundtrip tickets 86k each way plus 36 in tax

bought miles came out to be 1950 round trip delta one with a stop in france

thanks so much dan was always waiting for a cheap business class ticket

jack

hi dan is the kosher food on delta one business good?

menachem

two questions how do you book on delta.com a VS flight one one way Tlv-lax on VS ? and if done separately shows a full surcharge on delta.com?

Joanna

If the search criteria is London-TLV, For flights from other cities do you just buy the first leg separately? Am in Los Angeles

Dan fan

Hi Dan, Forgive me for my ignorance. When you wrote above that you can convert Marriott to Delta and 1 way to TLV will be 42.5K, does that mean 42.5K Marriot points will equal 42.5K Delta points?

BG

Now 170K on Delta One/First Class jfk to tlv

Is this promo still going on?
