In the past I have found these units to be great for short term emergencies and allow you to cool without having windows open enough for crooks to enter. I remind users to screw or nail their window so an enterprising burglar can not easily open your window enough to enter.
These units seem to be exempt from publishing their cooling capacity (BTU) and also their efficiency. They may not be as efficient as a window unit but a lot safer.
