Update: DEAD!

Icelandair is having an excellent business class sale from North America to Iceland. Their business class is more like domestic first class with reclining seats, but it sure beats coach! Plus it comes with 2 free 70 pound checked bags per passenger and lounge access.

This is valid in the summer season where you can more easily see the stunning landscape or in the winter season when you can try to hunt down the northern lights!

You’ll also earn 125% of the flown miles when you credit your flight to Alaska Airlines miles with this A class fare and those miles will count towards Alaska Airline elite status. For example a flight from Chicago to Iceland will earn 7,360 Alaska miles round-trip.

There is now a Chabad House on Iceland and they do offer kosher catering options if you contact them. Multiple DDF members have brought their own kosher food to Iceland without any reported issues.

Iceland has been on my bucket list after seeing Something Fishy’s pictures from his PhotoDO there:

Will you check the northern lights off your bucket list?

Dan,
We are thinking of going for a long weekend in January. Goal would be to see Northern Lights and a little bit of sights. Are we crazy to go only for 3 nights?

PeterW

We went to Iceland for 2 nights and it was fun trip. We landed on Saturday Morning and went to Blue Lagoon right away. After that we rested in our AirBnB and went to “hunt” northern lights and we were able to see some! On Sunday we did small circle – perfect day trip. On Monday we went to see Reykjavik before our 3PM flight home. Fun and totally worth long weekend trip!

jack

nope, I go for 3 nights all the places I go, pack it in, miss some stuff hope to come back, better this way then go for too long and feel bored half the way through.

Mir

Would you say that this a better use of chase points than transferring to united for use in booking The 42.5k economy saver LAX to TLV flights? Wondering if I should use cash instead for this and save the points for that?

Mendy

I see the flights from phl are on a 737max 8 what’s gonna be the deal here will they need to replace it before or it’s just a Google flights error

Abraham

FYI from Toronto there are lie flat seats on some flights but price is higher.

Any deals to Europe via Iceland with this?

Rudy

Do you have to book a round trip to get this deal? You can’t book one-way?

Joseph

Any available fares from BWI (Icelandair flies there starting the 28th of May)?

Alessandro

Later flights from/to Boston are lie-flat. Just booked Aug 1-5
