From Lima you can fly to Cusco to explore magnificent Machu Picchu.
For example you can fly from Newark to Lima with a 2 hour connection on the outbound. On the return you can book a 23 hour stopover in Atlanta. At that point you could book another ticket by home to NYC. Your bags will have to be picked up in Atlanta either way as you need to bring them past customs when you fly from abroad into the US:
Or you can book a shorter connection in Atlanta and just fly back to Toronto. You can then book a ticket back to NYC if that’s where you want to end up.
