Samsung, particularly on latest models, offers a substantial discounts for trade-ins and has other discounts available like first-responder. So this is not really a comparison of $185 vs $430.
Also, the $430 price quoted and linked is via their business store. Their consumer store, with first-responder or similar discount, even without trade-in, is almost $100 less.

Finally, if you have (or purchase used) an old smartwatch, the total price for the Watch 5 Pro, which is the replacement model for the 4 Classic, is around $250:

So, $180 with no trade-in needed, for the 4 Classic, is certainly cheaper than $250 with any trade-in for its replacement, the 5 Pro.
But that’s the “realistic” difference, not $180 vs $430.
