What’s the deal with Kashrus for the pellets? I read this online: NOTE: Don’t buy a smoker that uses wood pellets or pucks to generate smoke. They are made from sawdust held together with nonkosher gelatin. Rather, use wood chips made from chopping large chunks of wood.
1. Who says.
2. Even if they are, who says that the smoke from burnt gelatin that was used as glue is problematic when then wafted through your cooking chamber?
Spoke to star-K hotline, they said there are no kashrus concerns
Maybe we should state location where were seeing the price. Bay Area and LA Area are both coming up at $269.
They said they’ll price match it at any Lowe’s. So just order it to a store that it works on and then call the Lowe’s nearest you and have them price match. Then you’ll get it ok your zip code.
Change zip to Midwest zip any I think I chose one from Oklahoma. It’ll drop the price to 189 and then switch to your local store and it will stay the same price of 189 (it did for me) . I bought mine just waiting for confirmation email.

I didn’t have this experience of canning locations and changing back but was fortunate enough to find one locally for this price. So check all local locations to see if it’s lower.
