AFAIK, Amex Extended Warranty does NOT cover refurbished items.

They double the warranty, up to 1 year.
In this case it comes with a 90 day warranty, so AMEX will cover you from days 91-180.

If you have AMEX I think by 180 days you’ll have a good idea if you got a great deal or if it’s a dud. And if it’s a dud you’ll be able to get a refund from AMEX.
