just asking

what do the different classes mean?

yakov

What does class mean?

Avi

Whats the difference between all the different classes?

Dan

@Titzy:
Looks like it sold out from the 3rd party shipper that was doing free shipping.

@just asking:
The higher the class, the higher the speed of the card.

yakov

@Dan:

Thanks for that. Is class two that bad? Or I guess I have to test them myself.

Dan

@yakov:
For a regular user I’m not sure if the difference between classes will matter.
Maybe an expert here can chime in and tell us?

class

HIgher classes save files faster. saving takes time, the faster it saves the faster you can take the next picture. Also, the higher the megapixels, the bigger the file size.
It also helps you take smoother videos, as it saves each frame faster.

Dovid

If you have a newer camera, intend to use it for video, and don’t want the video to be jumpy, you will want a class 6 card.

@Dovid:
Thanks guys!
Will there be a noticeable difference between class 6 and class 10?

Dovid

Although there would be no noticeable difference using today’s cameras between a true class 6 and a class 10, you have no way of knowing whether the manufacturers of the cheap-o cards are fibbing when they call it a class 6. It’s not like there’s an FDA.

If you want to be sure that you’re getting what the label says, buy Sandisk.
