When does the code expire?
Anyone have a good lead on a car-holder for my cell phone? The ones that go into the A/C vents never work. I need one with a permanent sticky base, etc.
I would suggest something that goes on top of the dash with a suction on it.

I bought two. One for the steering wheel and one to put closer to the charging port.
Charging from the steering wheel wasn’t working out if I had to turn. LOL
they make ones that anchor into the cd slot if your car still has a cd player… I find these to be the most stable.

Why is eBay charging tax on the precoupon price? Isn’t that wrong?
In general discounts made at the time of sale do not reduce the sales tax, as the vendor/retailer (eBay) is subsidizing the full price.
In Texas you are not supposed to be charged tax on the coupon amount. Ebay’s sales tax calculator is wrong for Texas. I have contacted them but they don’t believe me and I’m not sure who to contact. They are the only large retailer charging tax on coupons.
The sale price is the price before coupon. That’s the price the seller gets directly. The fact that ebay subsidizes the purchase price doesn’t change that fact. This is fundamentally different than a manufacturers coupon or store coupon. one has to view ebay as the marketplace, not the seller.
to elaborate. imagine ebay didn’t do sales tax themselves, but punted it to the seller. would the seller only take sales tax on the pre-coupon price? from their perspective, there is no coupon.
The fact that ebay might automate the collection of sales tax for the sellers, so they don’t have to bother with it, doesn’t change the story.
My research is indicating the exact opposite of what you are saying. Of the merchant is providing the discount, they should not be charging tax on that portion.
In fact, I believe last time the forever stamp with a card came out to 0.01 with the $3 coupon, so I think it may be a recent change.
Could also be I’ll actually get charged 0.01 and the order screen is just wrong.
I was charged tax on the coupon amount. This appears to be against NY State tax law. NY State law in Tax Bulletin ST-140 (TB-ST-140) indicates that store issued coupons are not charged tax on the coupon amount. I called ebay on Friday and spoke to a supervisor. He filed a report asking ebay to review this topic. See the weblink below where this law is explained with an example.
