That is as of yet unknown about this new version. There are some downgrades from the original pixel. Time will tell.
I’m curious to see how this stacks up against the OnePlus 7/7Pro which are launching next Tuesday (5/14). The pro is rumored to be in the $700 range. But the standard OP7 should be < $550, so it will be interesting to see how they compare.
All of the reviewers of this new pixel3a agree that the camera is identical to the regular pixel3, which is arguably the best camera on a phone. A lot of the magic happens in the software. The pixel 3a has a slower processor so opening apps and running them won’t be as snappy as the regular pixel 3 which has a top-of-line processor. The build is plastic but most people use a case anyway. At this price point you won’t find any other phone with a top of the line camera.
It’s not arguable. The Pixel camera is light years ahead of everything else.
If one doesn’t mind going with the Chinese brands you can get either the Huawei P30 lite or Xiaomi Mi9 SE for cheaper, with significantly better specs in ALL areas and while they don’t have a Pixel camera, they do have top of the line cameras.
To me, the main advantage of the Pixel 3a is the pure and clean stock android OS.
This version is not water resistant

Slightly disappointed in the battery life of the pixel 3. Purchased it at $450 for the 128 GB option, and it has a 2915 mAh battery. This phone, the 3A XL has a 3700mAh battery. Maybe i should have went with the Pixel 3XL which has a 3430 mAh. Think I should return the Pixel 3 and get the the 3A XL?
