Random question. Fox car rental – which I rented from 6 months ago – just emailed me that they mistakenly refunded me the deposit ($150) after the rental twice. And now they want me to pay. They threatened me with additional charges and to ruin my credit report if I don’t.
What’s the best way to deal with this? I’d love to hear your take…

Why don’t you just pay them back?
Not sure why I would be paying for their mistake, 6 months after the fact.
(I don’t even have record of them paying me back, I have to request my statements from amex)
Shouldn’t there be like a limit how far back in time you can go?
I don’t think it’s different than getting $300 from an ATM when you only withdrew half of that. Not something I would fight to keep, but that’s just my opinion.
I have ordered from shoes.com and they have some good deals BUT if they don’t work for you and you need to send them back they deduct $7-8 for every pair (i don’t remember the exact amount) if i am returning more then one it really adds up i could put that money towards a better or more expensive pair. i hope not to buy from them again. Some of the shoes run very small.
Buy on an AMEX and just use AMEX return protection.

Exchanges may be free but not returns you would need to find something in that exact price to do an even exchange they run out of the popular sizes very quickly. I tried it was too hard. Maybe if your lucky. If you order the same shoe in 2 diffrent sizes and need to return 1 they deduct the 7-8 $
just a warning, always price check each of the shoes u may want, ca nbe surprised that they are cheaper on zappos or amazon with less return headache (e.g. the Cole-Haan-Santa-Barbara-Loafer is less on amazon)
