Amazon is now charging me $6.99 if I choose the option of returning via UPS with a pre-printed label. And Amazon is charging $1 for returning to a UPS Store. It’s quite annoying, because the other options (Whole Foods, Staples, etc) are not close by & there are often long lines. I’ve been a Prime member for many years, but I’m getting disgruntled with Amazon’s recent cash-grabs.
Walmart plus has been steadily supplanting Amazon for a lot of my needs.
I am even considering canceling prime at this point.
It depends what you write as the reason for returning, and if that still doesn’t give you the option you can do it through customer service (automated system, no need to chat, just a little more time consuming then doing it from the order history)
Eli what do you mean by automated system ? Calling in or online? . I have tried the system online and still being charged

Just an awareness. I once googled Amazon customer service number and reached the scammers in India. Always verify that the number is coming from a reliable source. (Amazon would not send you to a store to get gift cards to process a refund!)
Nothing like going to the UPS store after Amazon said no box or label needed and being charged for a box and tape. Hopefully Staples will be better

None of the options they have are walking distance for me and I don’t drive. I have a UPS drop off store (not an actual UPS store) at my corner so I will continue to use that option and use the original box and print my own label. So no staples for me. I am stocking up on gift cards now by buying them with Amex cards that have +5x offers for a total of 6x. Can do a reload from my app in 60 seconds from the comfort of my home.

they write free delivery and returns but essentialy its not free returns if one of the listed options is not close to you or as in my case, far from where I live. with ups dropoff I used to give it to my ups driver. any ideas what can be done? I definitely am shopping less on amazon for this reason
