Is there a limit to gift cards

You ever found a machine that isn’t broken or jammed or out of service?

R

The original wording was awful, makes it sound like each machine only has one code and you have to race there to get it haha. I think they’ve updated the wording:
“Offer is available to customers who get an Amazon.com Gift Card claim code at a physical location for the first time. This is a limited time offer, one per Amazon customer account.”

So I think it is essentially one-time per account, but it also may exclude you if you have already gotten an Amazon gift card from Coinstar in the past.

Sam

Why does this make any sense? They take 11.9% fee.

Dave

So, Coinstar charges 11.9%, so that $30 worth of coins will cost you $3.57. If those coins are worth less than $1.43 to you, then this is a deal.

No fees charged by Coinstar if used for Amazon gift card

MN

Not worth the hassle. Maybe if there was no limit

E

Yeah, terrible wording. Why didn’t they just say “limited to one promotional credit per account.”

I can go to the bank, get 3 rolls of quarters put them in Coinstar and get a $35 Amazon gift card?

Jeff

Yes. But is your time really worth $5 for all the hassle?

I did this already this morning, so hopefully my comments help answer people’s questions.

I took $32 worth of coins to the supermarket and chose Amazon.com gift card. I was not charged a fee, and got an Amazon gift card code for $32. I came home, added it to my account and it showed a $32 balance. Within 30 seconds I received an email saying I activated the $5 promo code which will automatically apply at check out.
