I am never eligible for targeted amazon offers until the one that requires watching a video
Go figure.

anonymous

how long do you need to watch for/

AsherO

Thanks, got it. Shortest video I can watch?

Dan

No idea, but if you have hopeless wanderlust like me, watch The Amazing Race.

Yo ssi

Life hack, go to any video and put it right before the end to watch the last few seconds..

yair

Alex

Ok Dan, Mr Marketing genius:)
Why would they do this?
What do they gain?

yair

They gain prime members using the video which they might not have otherwise done, and maybe they’ll poke around the video library a bit. This way, when time comes to renew their prime subscription, they’ll value it more highly and be more likely to renew.

Dan

Yup, Prime Video exists to help keep you hooked on Prime.

Chaim

Well they’re expecting you to start watching their movies and then start buying the ones that cost money. Plus if you watch enough you’ll never leave prime!

Work-for-ur-muny

It says it needs to be watched during Holiday Season, but there are no specific dates. Can I already watch it now?

Dan

Yes.

Work-for-ur-muny

Great thanks! At the end of the day before leaving the office, I can just shut auto-play, and turn on the any movie to run its course…

Dan

Sure

Ed Travel

I just started the Endless summer did my things and it just finished 🙂

Nissim

Since I live in Israel, it doesn’t allow me to watch. Are there any videos even an Israeli can watch? I don’t have vpn

Debby

There are Israeli movies (that cost money), but I have also seen a show with Israeli actors called The Baker and the Beauty as well as Srugim. Worth a try.

Dennis York

Thanks! This will be great for offsetting the cost of a Kindle book. Be sure to note you only have 14 days to use the credit once getting it.

NTorch

Anyone see the credit in their account? How are you notified that its there?

Mr Nomad

Says “After making your eligible Prime Video stream, you will receive an e-mail within the next few days from Amazon that indicates the $5 promotional credit has been added to your customer account.”

S

Do you need to be a Prime member when applying the credit, or just to get the credit?

Avi

yep, prime membership required

S

Thanks for responding, but are you sure you read my question correctly? Because I don’t think it’s clear from the terms.
If I watch a Prime video (obviously with Prime account) and then my account is downgraded to regular, will the promotional credit be withdrawn.

PHILLIP E JONES

Watched Borat 2, waiting for the $5 credit, or notification via email… Very NICE!

Pete

Called up Amazon as it’s been 3+ days and no credit. I sent them a screenshot of the promo and they just applied the credit. Much easier than waiting for an email that may never come.

darren

I followed your lead and was manually credited $5 as well.

Debby

I didn’t have that luck. I contacted customer service via chat. They asked me when I watched the video and said the email should arrive 7-10 business days after that. I’m still waiting :/
