Mine had a banner across the top of the product page telling me to use the coupon code, but gave me this message when I tried to use it. Called Amazon support, and they told me to order it and they will refund $20 to me.
Yep, I have the banner, too, and the code wouldn’t work.

From my understanding you can schedule it to turn on, but you cannot schedule it to turn off.
How would they ever even sell one of these if this was the case?

I had this issue and called amazon. They credited me $20 for the purchase.
Same happened to me, I chatted with Amazon they said they will fix it for me within 2 hours and they gave me a $10 courtesy credit

Yes, you can create schedules is the app. Good unless your wifi is out or plug needs to be reset.

I called Amazon, but while on the line I figured out why the code won’t work—It is for Prime members only, and I am not a Prime member.
It doesn’t work for me and I have prime.

I imagine that if you own an Amazon device such as an Echo and they see you haven’t purchased these types of ‘add-on’ toys, they “target” you. I recently hooked up the Echo Dot and wah lah, I got the discount and the Smart Plug is arriving today. Why would they target someone that doesn’t even own the Echo? There’s a reason for everything.
