- Dan’s Note: I’m a big Catan fan and received this as a birthday present a few years ago. Like what happens when you fly first class, it’s hard to go back to the regular Catan after playing it like this. It’s a real treat to play and not have to worry about the sea border frame sliding. The entire game feels more immersive, impressive, and fun! This retails for $300 and typically costs $200-$265 from Amazon, which is hard to justify. At $139, it’s still a splurge, but also makes a great gift for any Catan or board game fan!
