I ordered 5 and then went to order details and it says $15 gift cards not $20. I’m not cancelling in case $20 gift cards actually come but it looks like it won’t work. Not terrible as I used Chase Freedom (which has 5x points this quarter) so no worse than buying at Staples using my Chase Ink.

What I did was ordered 1 with the one day shipping and all the rest I scheduled for my Amazon delivery day (Aug 17th) so if the one that comes tomorrow is a $20 gift card I’ll keep my orders otherwise I’ll just cancel.
This way I lock in the price with Little/No risk.

As the post says, you might get $15 gift cards, though it’s noteworthy that $20 is the minimum denomination they sell for these styles.
In an hour or so they’ll lower the minimum on physical gift card to $15 to save all the money for all the DansDeals users lol 🙂

It’ll be interesting to see what they ship. Strictly speaking, we didn’t “select” a $20 gift card, we simply took the default … and it looks like they loaded the default as a $15 GC. The order says we bought a $15 GC. A screenshot with the selections doesn’t mean we selected “$20” when adding to the cart. Maybe they will ship an unmarked GC in a box with $15 loaded?
But there is no such thing as a 15 gift card.
You can’t buy on amazon anything with a variety without selecting first, unless some version is selected by default. In this case the $20 option is selected by default.

Which means that I wouldn’t be shocked if they end up getting canceled, but for the meantime, I told that guy that it was in fact me. Well, don’t expect Amazon to honor the deal.
I have noticed a serious deterioration recently in Amazon’s level of customer service.
As an example, I received two clearly used kitchen utensils in my last two Prime Day orders and Amazon is refusing to refund or replace the items unless I return them at my expense. The shipping costs are more than the items’ values so that’s a non-starter. They won’t offer any other options.
I tried the HACA method, online chat, and even asked to be transferred to Amazon USA, to speak with a supervisor, etc. and now my account has been flagged as a “troublemaker”, which means they categorically refuse to escalate the issue to a more senior associate. It’s like hitting a brick wall with no where else to turn.
As an Amazon customer for almost 20 years, this is the first time I have ever experienced such poor treatment and I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Now we know why Amazon no longer advertises itself as the most customer-centric company on Earth.
If you paid with credit card, file a dispute with the card issuer.
Therein lies the problem. I earned a considerable amount of Prime Day promotional credits in the run-up before Prime Day that I used to pay for most of the order. The rest was paid with my Amazon Gift Card balance. As such, Amazon refuses to refund any of the promotional credits and won’t refund the rest to my gift card balance unless I physically return the items.
Basically never worth disputing an Amazon charge in my experience. They’ll just ban your account.

Actually the same here was wondering if I am flagged (how do u know u r flagged)or something as refuse to transfer to manager etc and refuse to give refund etc but just disputed all recent charges on credit with proof of my chats and got all my money back permanent already but customer service is garbage these days

people should be smart enough and realize that most amazon customer service reps are trained to satisfy/ the customer now and deal with the issues later. When you ask them to confirm that you will indeed be receiving $20 GCs instead of $15 GCs, they really have no clue what you will be receiving. Since you told them that the order was for $20 GC’s, they will tell you that you will be receiving $20 GC’s , because Amazon strives to fulfill their orders. They are trained to tell you that you will receive what you “ordered”. The fact that you will actually be receiving the $15 GCs (as Amazon has built excellent systems to prevent wrong mistakenly advertised prices from going through;payments are not processed when you click buy now) is not the Customer Service reps worry at the moment, they know that you probably will have an issue later , but they don’t want to deal with it ahead of time. Their goal is to get you off the phone and “resolve” your issue as fast as possible. They’ll let someone else deal with the real problems later. (plus they dont know that ur the type of person that would make a whole deal out of it, as many people wouldn’t)Your best bet is to request a $10 Courtesy Credit and don’t settle for a meager $5 one. Got 30 of these. Confirmed with chat that it would be $20. Shipped and serial numbers appeared on order page as $15. Used chat again and they gave me gift card credit for the difference by applying a “goodwill return” to a random item I had ordered in the past.
serial numbers posted, 33 cards @$15. Chatted, got to a supervisor, who added $165 to my gift card balance. A huge hassle as the CSR’s were pretty incompetent, but mission accomplished.

When I chatted, they said they took full responsibility for the mistake and will work everything out within 72 hours.

Just arrived in the mail, received all as $15 gift cards, but when ordered stated they would be $20 gift cards.
I was unable to cancel my orders earlier, but now when they are two stops away it’s letting me cancel them.

I canceled two orders for 10 cards each because I saw the post that the order should be canceled, but one order arrived already and I redeemed one of the cards before reading the updated postings. I chatted with customer service and they refunded me five dollars each for the 10 cards that had already arrived. Unfortunately because I canceled the other two orders I was told they couldn’t do anything for me

BuyNow 10 yesterday and received today. Amazon site shows as $20 value each. Now will wait to see if $5 credit arrives for each or will have to call

Couldn’t cancel order because shipped immediately. I activated 1 to confirm it was $15 and chatted with Amazon to complain. They refunded the 9 unused and gave me $5 credit as apology…ended up with $20 credit for $15 .
Order arrived today. Chatted with Amazon about the discrepancy, they said there was an issue that showed the incorrect purchase price, but as a one time exception, they would make me whole, so they added the difference in my gift card balance, $100 for the 20 cards I ordered. Just posted to my account.
wow, got refunded full amount over $500 from my three orders and i can keep the cards to donate or use . It took two calls .

I really think you should update the post, as I’m not the only one.
Got 20 gift cards and told the rep they were meant to be $20/each. She put me on hold for 2 min and refunded me all 20 and said I can keep them!
I was in for 140 but because Dan posted to cancel I started canceling and all but 50 were cancelled as those were “shipping” already. I received the 50 and now Amazon credited me back for difference. .. too bad I cancelled any of them.. but took my $250 like a champ
I got my GC and opened a chat with amazon. At first it was like talking to the wall- the rep refused to do anything more than offer me a $10 credit. I also asked to return these even tho it’s not usually a returnable item. Even had a hard time getting transferred to a supervisor. When I was finally transferred, the supervisor said it’s gonna be handed over to the promotions team… Hopefully I’ll get a response there… all in all not so easy to get refunded like other people are posting.
Check if the cards are working after getting credit, they gave me credit and told to keep the cards but i am not able to apply any of the gift cards.
Apply GCs to your account and then chat to get the difference, when they refund the amount you have paid all gift cards get deactivated, Amazon Rep didn’t know this, She just confirmed.

I received that email as well after being assured by customer service that all (13 total) gift cards would get a $20 balance. Had a chat during which they seemed helpful. Offered a credit that I was happy with, $5 per card. Later found that at least some of my original gift cards have been cancelled. So now I’ve paid $15 each for $5 dollar gift cards. I will give them one more chance to fix this, then dispute charges with Discover. They can cancel my account for all I care at this point.

Amazon just reached out and gave me $5. I cancelled my orders.
chatted with them and was just told that they would be crediting me for $300 (60 cards) within 24 hours. This was my 3rd time chatting. The previous reps were not so helpful. Does anyone else find that the Reps at night are much more willing to credit you than the daytime reps. That’s just what I’ve noticed.

ok some good news. I spoke to a rep on the phone. they were able to give me the $5 extra. I ordered 30 cards, so they added $150 to my amazon account balance.
