Does this work to check for fever?
Wouldn’t recommend that.
Had one. It is great for food internal temperature.
I had my kids outfitted with the MDY Probe Recepticle available for $59.99 on Amazon. This meat thermometer interfaces great with it, and best of all avoids injuries you might expect from otherwise inserting a long and pointy meat probe into the human body.
The best part about it is that the probe then becomes a 99.8% accurate thermometer for taking temperature of an ill family member. The thermometers that you point and shoot with are never really accurate and oral or rectal thermometer take too long. This meat thermometer working together with the MDY device give you precise readings within a 2.8 second time frame!
I will say that the MDY device along with battery that needs to be replaced every 8 months makes this a pricey option for taking temperature of a suspected fever.
Maybe for a rump roast.
