Getting 5 cents is very hard. Especially if you don’t travel that much. Besides for business class tickets and a few really good hotels, 1.5 cents is more realistic.
The spg card never offers double points or anything.
Can you list us ten ways to get over thrre cents.
I know of
1. business class tickets.
2. if you get lucky- cash and points at some hotels.

-Any transfer for a business or first class ticket to the over 30 airlines that participate will easily bump you over over 5 cents. This has thousands of potential uses.

-Nights and flights should be over 5 cents.

-Cash and points can be tricky to find, but can be easily be that valuable. I’ve seen the Sheraton Jerusalem at $250 or 2,800 SPG+$45. I’ve seen even better cash and points values at other hotels.

-Transferring 20,000 SPG for 50,000 LAN can get 5 cents even in coach, it’s more than enough miles for a normally $1,200 ticket to Brazil.

-Transferring 20,000 SPG to Air France Flying Blue when they are running a web promo for 25,000 miles from anywhere in the US to anywhere in Europe/Israel will hit 5 cents even in coach.

-A normally very expensive ticket to anywhere in Alaska on Alaska Air is just 20,000 Alaska miles.

-Using SPG for a confirmed hotel upgrade that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive.

-With Asia Miles transfers there are bargains galore for One World tickets.

-Many airlines have cheap upgrade mileage options to upgrade paid economy tickets.

-There are tons of other hidden mileage bargains to aim for to get over 5+ cents out of Starpoints

hey dan, could you PLEASE help me a bit with information on getting approved for the AMEX Starwood card? whats the credit score that i need? i dont want to apply and get denied andc lower my credit score… if i have a score of XXX is that enough these days to get approved? if yes… whaty’s the magic number?

hey dan, i have a spg account with over 500,000 points. spg froze it a month ago because someone tried to book a room without me for a week and a diferent person changed all the login info, email address and mailing address. now there is no one to talk to, they just gave me a email address to send a request with a minimal response. do you have any ideas what i can do?

Once you pick what you ‘return’ you want, you just wait and see how many stays you rack up (by the deadline) and then you choose the obvious choice.

Double points is INCLUDING any promo?

So LAS PH w/ 5k bonus on 2 nights would yield 10k?

question:
if I get status (to platinum) through this promotion…how long does it last for? if it only lasts for a year then do i need to stay 50 times each year to keep it active?
also, when I book 2 or 3 rooms under my name for the same night, does that count as 3 nights?
