When you reach 50 and 75 nights in a Marriott you can select elite choice benefits. You must make your 2023 benefits by 1/7/24.
- 50 night awards include:
- Add five Elite Night Credits to your 2023 total.
- Save $1,000 on a bed from your favorite hotel brand.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to a family member, friend or colleague.
- Donate US$100 to Charity.
- Get five Suite Night Awards to redeem for upgrades to suites and premium rooms.
- SNAs are confirmable 5 days before a stay, subject to availability. They will soon become NUAs, which will be valid at more hotels and more non-suite room types but will only be confirmable 3 days before a stay, subject to availability.
- 75 night awards include:
- One Free Night Award worth up to 40,000 points.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status to a family member, friend or colleague.
- Add five Elite Night Credits to your 2023 total.
- Save $1,000 on a bed from your favorite hotel brand.
- Donate US$100 to Charity.
- Get five Suite Night Awards to redeem for upgrades to suites and premium rooms.
The only 50 night awards that make any sense are the 5 elite nights and the 5 suite award nights. If you need the suite nights for an upcoming stay, you can go ahead and select that. No matter when you select them, they’ll expire on 12/31/24.
The 5 elite nights would be worthwhile if you have between 70-74 nights in 2023, in order to reach Titanium and the 75 level choice benefits.
With 75 nights, the 40K free night is likely the best bet. If you want until January to select those they will be valid for an extra year, so nights selected now will expire 12/31/25!
You can earn up to 40 nights per year from Marriott cards.

Yes 45 nights is all you need
Suite nights are not worth it they are never guaranteed they only give you on the day of at check in which by then all the elites have claimed the suites already.
that’s not what is says in this post or on Marriott’s website. The 5 extra elite nights count towards your 2023 status.
