Don’t Forget To Select Your 2022 Marriott Elite Choice Benefits
When you reach 50 and 75 nights in a Marriott you can select elite choice benefits. You must make your 2022 benefits by 1/7/23.

- Add five Elite Night Credits to your 2022 total.
- Save 40% on a bed from your favorite hotel brand.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to a family member, friend or colleague.
- Donate US$100 to Charity.
- Get five Suite Night Awards to redeem for upgrades to suites and premium rooms.
- 75 night awards include:
- One Free Night Award worth up to 40,000 points.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status to a family member, friend or colleague.
- Add five Elite Night Credits to your 2022 total.
- Save 40% on a bed from your favorite hotel brand.
- Gift Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status to a family member, friend or colleague.
- Donate US$100 to Charity.
- Get five Suite Night Awards to redeem for upgrades to suites and premium rooms.
The only 50 night awards that make any sense are the 5 elite nights and the 5 suite award nights. If you need the suite nights for an upcoming stay, you can go ahead and select that. No matter when you select them, they’ll expire on 12/31/23.
The 5 elite nights would be worthwhile if you have between 70-74 nights in 2022, in order to reach Titanium and the 75 level choice benefits.
With 75 nights, the 40K free night is likely the best bet. If you want until January to select those they will be valid for an extra year, so night selected now will expire 12/31/24!
You can earn up to 40 nights per year from Marriott cards.

So I was Titanium last year and my account is still showing Titanium. Does that mean I had a soft landing? Or is status not suppose to change on 1/1?
Marriott status expires 2/28.
A soft landing would be to Platinum.

if I got 30 nights for having personal and businesses marriott card, can I upgrade my personal marriott to the brilliant and get the additional 10 nights to total 40, and then downgrade afterwards?

I remember dan saying last year that his expired the following year, probably since he selected his in the 7 day window of 2022.. anyone selected their 40K now during 2023?

I’d take the 40K for sure. SNAs are pretty tough to use.
Let us know when the 40K night expires. The SNAs selected now expire 12/31/23.
just submitted 5 SNA for 50, and for the 75- the 40K night- the 40K night expires 12/31/2024!
I am trying to keep my titanium for next year as well (the silver status with united is handy).. if I upgrade my existing amex card to the brilliant would I get the additional 10 nights, can I upgrade closer to the end of the year and then downgrade afterwards (either in early 2024 to avoid a claw back of the extra 10 nights) or as soon as the nights post this year.. (anyone had any experience with this)? also can I book category 1 hotels in the US with mobile checkin, and not actually STAY at that hotel, just check in via mobile and never show up (to get the stays if I am short)?
