The overwater villas found in the Maldives and Bora Bora are the stuff that dreams are made of. You wake up surrounded by the warm ocean which is teeming with incredible sealife. There’s something magical about taking the steps from your villa into the ocean and watching the stars at night.
They’re also extremely expensive and very tough to obtain with points.
The S. Regis Maldives had overwater villas from just 26K Starpoints per night last year, but that deal ended within a few days and rates went up to 90K/night. There is an ongoing sale that drops the rate there to 47K-58K per night. Pricey, but it’s also the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
The Park Hyatt Maldives has beach rooms for 25K points/night, but you typically need to pay more than $500/night to upgrade to an overwater villa. And if you’re flying all the way to the Maldives, you’ll want an overwater villa.
I’ve stayed in overwater villas at the W and S. Regis Maldives and can’t wait to stay in another one in the future.
The Conrad Maldives has traditionally only had their beach room available for affordable point redemption. Premium rooms, like overwater villas, went for hundreds of thousands of points per night.
However you can book overwater villas right now for just 95K points per night. If you have a Hilton credit card or elite status you can book a 5 night stay for just 76K points per night!
Stay 5 nights and pay an average of just 76K points/night with a Hilton credit card or elite status.
The Conrad water villa includes a plunge pool on the balcony, great for a quick dip after snorkeling in the ocean.
The Water Villa measures 925 sq. ft. in size and sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children

Here are Mavic Pro pictures that I took in the Maldives earlier this year. Pretty much as close to paradise as you’ll find on this planet:
Note that it can take 24 hours to fly from the USA until you reach a resort in Maldives as you need to connect somewhere to reach Male (MLE) and then you’ll need to wait for a seaplane to bring you from the Male airport to your resort. That seaplane will also set you back some $250 per kid or $500 per adults plus tax on top of your tickets to Male. It’s an exhausting and expensive trip, but the water is truly stunning there and the isolation and relaxation is impossible to describe.
Airlines serving Male include Aeroflot (3 days/week from SVO), Austrian (2 days/week seasonally from VIE), British Airways (3 days/week seasonably from LGW), Cathay Pacific (4 days/week from HKG), Emirates (daily from DXB), Etihad (daily from AUH), Qatar (daily from DOH), Singapore (daily from SIN), and Turkish (daily from Istanbul).
