A nice perk of using United miles is that you can cancel for free at any time until departure. You can instantly transfer points from Chase at a 1:1 ratio.
Too far of a flight to handle in economy? There’s also good availability in Premium for 70K or in Polaris Business for 100K each way.

Can you do this for previously booked flights? I have an international business class flight booked already but the domestic portion is in economy.

for some reason with the 100k business they generally give the domestic leg with 2 stops or long connection even if for economy or premium the give the short connection..
Is it possible/difficult to buy the economy flight with miles and subsequently upgrade to business using either money or miles? Thanks!

Been around for weeks now. They had business for 100k miles. Mostly first leg in economy, though, they did have fully business (/first) with an extra stop.
