Here’s How To Ditch The New Copilot AI Keyboard Button Forced Onto New Windows Computers

I’m currently trying out the new Dell XPS 14 laptop, which is an impressive machine overall. One annoyance is that Microsoft is forcing manufacturers to include a physical Copilot AI button on the keyboard.

I hate that even more than I hated the old Samsung Bixby button they used to force on Galaxy users.

Luckily, you can remap the Copilot button, with a small amount of effort.

You’ll want to download the Microsoft PowerToys app. After opening it, select to remap with Win+Shift+F23 key, which is actually the Copilot button.

You can change it to any other key or combination of keys. I changed that to Ctrl+Enter, which adds .com and enter, so that if you type in DansDeals into your URL bar and click on Copilot, it will complete DansDeals.com and go there, rather than open up the Copilot AI app:

You can also remap it to any other key or key combination.

Goodbye Copilot AI, I hardly knew you.

Incredibly though, AA found and returned the 4 year old XPS 13 that I left on a flight last month, so I’ll probably wind up returning the XPS 14 and keeping the 13.

Why choose Windows over Mac? especially for your purposes Dan

Apple is always more expensive from software to hardware. They control everything while Windows you have more liberty of putting whatever you want, no need to ask. It has more options to upgrade and expand, more options for software and if you really want a Mac in your PC you can always do a Hackintosh…

Instead of ditching the button, why not learn how to use it to enhance your daily work and be more productive and efficient?
