Update: This is the final call for the Chase Freedom Unlimited® limited time offer!

Apply right now if you want to take advantage of this offer and earn 3-10 points everywhere for a year!

WOW! Signup For Chase Freedom Unlimited® And Earn 3-10 Points Per Dollar Everywhere For A Year!

Special signup offer:

Open a Chase Freedom Unlimited® Visa with this link and after your first cardmembership year, Chase will match all of your earnings from the first year with no cap!

That’s a truly incredible offer, especially as this card offers such strong earnings.

Officially this card offers 1.5% cash back, 3% cash back, and 5% cash back categories, but you’ll actually receive 1.5, 3, or 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar. Those points can be used for cash back, but they can also be used for travel where they can be worth much more than that. With this offer, those earnings will be doubled for the first year, as explained below.

Annual fee:

None

Signup bonus terms:

You won’t get approved for a Freedom Unlimited Visa if you currently have a Freedom Unlimited Visa or if you received a signup bonus on a Freedom Unlimited card in the past 24 months.

If you have a current Freedom Unlimited Visa, you can call or message Chase to convert it to another card and then apply for this offer after waiting a few days.

5/24:

Some Chase cards are subject to 5/24 restrictions, meaning that you might not be approved if you have been approved for 5 or more consumer credit cards in the past 24 months. Enforcement of 5/24 has been patchy for the past year and the only way to know if you can get approved is by trying to apply.

Note that the Chase system automatically counts cards like authorized user cards and store cards as cards that count towards 5/24, but if you explain to Chase that those cards are merely authorized user cards or store cards they can manually approve you for a new card.

You can check your credit report for free at the federally authorized annualcreditreport.com to check how many accounts are shows as being open in the past 24 months.

Card earnings:

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® Card is an amazing all-around no annual fee credit card. It’s marketed as earning 1.5%-5% cash back, but it actually earns 1.5-5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere. As each point can be worth 1.5-2 cents (or more) each, that’s like earning 2.25%-10% back everywhere!

With this offer, those earnings will be doubled for a year, so you’ll earn 3-10 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere. As each point can be worth 1.5-2 cents (or more) each, that’s like earning 4.5%-20% back everywhere!

  • 1.5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere, marketed as 1.5% cash back.
    • At the end of the first year, Chase will double your earnings so that you will earn 3 points per dollar everywhere!
  • 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on drugstore purchases, marketed as 3% cash back.
    • At the end of the first year, Chase will double your earnings so that you will earn 6 points per dollar on drugstore purchases!
  • 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar on dining purchases, marketed as 3% cash back. This includes dining in, takeout, and restaurant delivery apps.
    • At the end of the first year, Chase will double your earnings so that you will earn 6 points per dollar on dining purchases!
  • 5 points per dollar on all travel purchased through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, marketed as 5% cash back.
    • At the end of the first year, Chase will double your earnings so that you will earn 10 points per dollar on Chase travel purchases!
  • 5 points per dollar on Lyft spending through 3/31/25, marketed as 5% cash back.
    • At the end of the first year, Chase will double your earnings so that you will earn 10 points per dollar on Lyft purchases!

0% APR:

You will pay 0% APR on purchases made during the first 15 months of cardmembership!

Card benefits:

  • Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance
  • Purchase protection for items damaged or stolen within 120 days
  • Extended warranty protection
  • 3 months of Doordash Dashpass

Increased points value:

You can cash out your points for 1% cash back. I hope that you won’t do that.

If you or someone in your household has an Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card Card or Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card you can redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from any card at a value of 1.25 cents towards paid travel.

If you or someone in your household has a Sapphire Reserve you can get a value of 1.5 cents per point towards paid travel.

The Freedom Unlimited card can’t transfer points directly into miles, but Chase allows you to transfer points to cards where they can be transferred into miles or redeemed for a greater value. My aim is to receive a value of 2 cents per point via transfers to miles, meaning you earn up up to 20% back for your purchases in the first year.

Airline and hotel points transferability:

If you or someone in your household has a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Sapphire Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points into valuable airline and hotel mileage currencies.

Card convertibility:

You can call Chase to convert this card or any of the following cards into another card from the list below:

Note that some reps will only allow card conversions after you have had the card for 12 months.

Killer Combos:

Stacking multiple Ultimate Rewards cards together can supercharge your earnings by getting you more points per dollar while increasing the value of all your points.

Read more about this strategy in depth in this post.

Chase Bifecta would consist of a household that has the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Sapphire Reserve and the Ink Unlimited. The total effective annual fees would be either $95 with Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or $250 with Sapphire Reserve after accounting for that card’s $300 annual travel credit. With the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card+Ink Unlimited you would earn 1.5 points per dollar everywhere, 2.1 points per dollar on all travel, 3 points per dollar on drugstores, 3.1 points per dollar on dining, streaming, and online grocery shopping, and 5.1 points per dollar on travel booked via Chase. You’ll be able to transfer all of your points into airline miles or hotel points.

Chase Trifecta adds a no annual fee card like Ink Cash or Chase Freedom Flex into the mix, so your total effective annual fee will still be $95 or $250. Both of those cards give options to earn a whopping 5 points per dollar in various categories on top of the 2-3 points per dollar that the Sapphire cards offer and the 1.5-5 points per dollar everywhere else with a Freedom Unlimited card. Read more about Freedom Flex here and read more about Ink Cash here.

Having all 3 Chase Ink cards means you can take advantage of bonus points on all purchases that you make while not having any effect on your personal credit.

Chase Quadfecta would add both the Ink Cash and Chase Freedom Flex on top of a Sapphire card and an Unlimited card, so your total effective annual fee will still be just $95 or $250. The Quadfecta is the sweet spot and allows you to really supercharge your spending everywhere.

Chase Quinfecta could add the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card to that mix, adding $95 to the annual fee total. This make sense if you spend money on shipping, social media advertising, or search engine advertising, or if you want free cell phone insurance.

Alternatively, you can create a Chase Quinfecta by adding the Chase United Explorer cardUnited Club Infinite CardUnited Gateway℠ CardUnited Quest℠ Card, or Chase United Business Card into the mix. Those cards don’t earn Ultimate Rewards points, but it makes your Ultimate Rewards points more valuable. Having a United card enables you to have access to significantly expanded United saver and standard award space in addition to benefits like 2 free club passes, a free checked bag, a free carry-on bag, and priority boarding, even when you’re on a basic economy fare. See more about those benefits here.

Again, all of these cards don’t need to be in one person’s name. 2 people from the same household can split up the requisite cards that make up the Quinfecta, as they can transfer the Ultimate Rewards points back and forth between themselves freely and they can add each other as an authorized user on their cards!

Airline transfer partners:

Combined with a Sapphire card, you can transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to:

  • United (Star Alliance)
  • Air Canada Aeroplan (Star Alliance)
  • Singapore (Star Alliance)
  • Air France/KLM Flying Blue
  • British Airways (OneWorld)
  • Aer Lingus (OneWorld)
  • Iberia (OneWorld)
  • Qatar (OneWorld, transfer via BA)
  • Emirates
  • JetBlue
  • Southwest
  • Virgin Atlantic

Hotel transfer partners:

Combined with a Sapphire card, you can transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to:

  • Hyatt
  • IHG
  • Marriott

You can also transfer to Hilton at a 1:1.5 ratio by transferring via Virgin Atlantic.

The great thing about Chase Ultimate Rewards is how versatile and valuable they are:

The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card cards allow you and anyone in your household to transfer Chase points into miles. They also allow you to use points at a value of 1.25 cents each towards travel.

The Sapphire Reserve also allows you and anyone in your household to transfer Chase points into miles. Plus it allows you to use points at a value of 1.5 cents each towards travel.

The fixed value is excellent and doesn’t require hunting down award space, but those points can be much more valuable by transferring them into airline miles or hotel points. You can get a value of 2 cents or much more when redeeming miles!

The fixed value is excellent and doesn’t require hunting down award space, but those points can be much more valuable by transferring them into airline miles or hotel points. They can easily be worth 2 cents each or much more than that!

  • If I want to stay in a 5 star Park Hyatt in the Maldives, Melbourne, NYC, ParisSydney, or Tokyo that would cost over $1,000/night, I can instantly transfer 25-40K points to Hyatt to do that, a value of up to 6 cents per point.
  • If I need a one-way flight from Cleveland (or Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Montreal, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Toronto, etc) to NYC that can cost $500 each way, I can instantly transfer 7.5K points to British Airways to book a short-haul on American with no last minute booking fees. Or if American doesn’t have availability I can instantly transfer 10K points to United for their short-haul award. That’s a value of up to 7 cents per point.
  • Air Canada offers one-way short haul awards for just 6K miles. You can also get stopover awards for 5K miles, build round-the-world awards, and get free lap child awards in the US/Canada and bring lap children to anywhere else in the world for just C$25!
  • If I want to stay in a non-chain hotel that costs $300/night and don’t want to pay cash, I can redeem 20K points for the room thanks to my Sapphire Reserve card’s minimum redemption value of 1.5 cents per point or 24K points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card ’s minimum redemption value of 1.25 cents per point
  • Flying Blue has award flights to Israel for 25K miles for adults or 18,750 miles for kids.
  • If I want to fly in a $25,000 ANA First Class Suite round-trip from the US to Tokyo, I can instantly transfer 145K or 160K points to Virgin Atlantic. That’s a value of up to 23 cents per point. You can now redeem one-way awards for half the price as well!
  • If I want to book a $2,281 business class ticket on Air Canada to Tel Aviv I can redeem 152K points for the flight thanks to my Sapphire Reserve card’s minimum redemption value of 1.5 cents per point or 182K points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card ’s minimum redemption value of 1.25 cents per point, plus I’ll earn Qantas miles for more future travel as it’s considered a paid flight instead of an award flight.
  • And thousands of other possibilities from Singapore couples suites to booking Southwest awards with 2 free bags and free cancellations, to stealing 2nd base in middle of an MLB game.

Dan’s Quick Thoughts

This is an incredibly generous special offer for a card that already had excellent earnings for everyday purchases!

With no annual fee, this is a no-brainer to pickup. The more you spend in the first year, the bigger your effective signup bonus will be!

If you’re a big spender, opening this card offer will be especially lucrative.

It’s worth noting of course that you may be better off opening the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card Card which earns 1.5 points per dollar everywhere, but also comes with a 90,000 point signup bonus for spending $6,000 in 3 months. Read more about that limited time offer here.

Is this only on new cards or is this offers for existing cardholders as well?

HesderGuy

Confused – are the points doubled the first year, or *after* the first year? It says both phrases…

C2CMom

Am I eligible to get this card if I have Freedom Flex card?

Jc

If I have one of each freedom card already will chase still let me switch my existing to a different freedom card?

S

It’s interesting structure from Chase. Think the headline jumps out a little more than it is in reality for most. Swiping $25K in the year for example is only really a $375 bonus for $25K of spend. When comparing to many offers, you realize it’s primarily a strong offer for high-spenders specifically (who also get some other nice bonus offers).

bigissy

Is there a max points that they will match? I uses for my business and I put on $300,000 for the year are they matching those points?

SR

So if I have this card more then 24 months and I change it to a different chase card I can apply and get this offer?

Jake

Interesting, but looks like no SUB? A $200 SUB at say 2% bonus earnings on average, implies needing to make $10k of spend to earn what otherwise would have been earned on $500 of spend. Tough breakeven especially for those with other high earning card combos.

OD

filter blocking application through site
any ideas?

Simcha

If I am currently an additional cardholder for this card can I still get this promotion for opening my own?

m

Link says: “New cardholders earn an extra 1.5% cash back on every purchase *(up to $20,000 spent)* during your first year, which is worth up to $300 cash back”

Avi

I have both the Sapphire Reserve and Ink Business cards
Do you recommend I get this card in addition?
Should I shift all my spending from SR to this?
Thanks

AE

Compare the rewards and see which one comes out better. I think that with the doubling on the FU, it will match or beat anything the SR can do. I find that the SR is basically just useful for the transfer/redemption options, not so much on the earnings side.

JF

Do only the existing points double after the first year, or do the total number of points double?
Example: I earn 50,000 pts, use 20k. Do I receive an extra 50k pts or 30k (matching the remaining 30)

Checkitout

I have my own Chase Freedom Flex card, but am only an authorized user on my husband’s Chase Freedom Unlimited. I have several other cards, but am at only 3/24 on my cards right now, according to Travel Freely. My credit score is about 800.

I just applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited, and was notified that I cannot be approved right now, and they will mail me the explanation in 7 to 10 business days.

Should I wait, or should I call reconsideration now?

Thanks for your advice!

josh

If I don’t have this card but I have the reserve and sapphire, and want to downgrade one of those to the flex (because of 5/24), would I still be eligible for this bonus program or does it only apply to new applications?

AE

How would downgrading a card take you below 5/24?

AE

So, if I am understanding you correctly, you are saying pay $1 mil to Uncle Sam at 1.85%, earn back 3%? Any takers?

Ida H

How long is this offer good for? I’m currently out of the country and afraid to apply for a new credit card on my iPhone. I don’t want chase to trigger a fraud in my cards that I’m using while on vacation.

Checkitout

Thanks, Dan. I called reconsideration and got approved!

Chaim

How long do I need to wait to apply after I transferred my card did it this past friday

Moshe

@Dan how can 2 members of same household transfer points to each other?

Moshe

Could you use this offer to get 3 UR points per dollar buying Amazon Gift cards/visa giftcards at drug stores and then getting all the points doubled at the end of the year?

Giles

I currently have a Chase Freedom Unlimited. If I product change it to a Freedom Flex, can I then apply for the new Freedom Unlimited and receive the 2X bonus for a year? If that’s a possible scenario, how long should I wait to apply for the Unlimited?

Chai

Can I buy gift cards at a drugstore and earn the bonus points?

Ym

What exactly am I supposed to do if I already have a freedom unlimited to get this offer?

az

still active?
and is there a signup bonus too? this card used to have i think 20k points signup bonus

Brad

Hey Dan! Thanks so much for your great content! I just signed up for this card through your link. How do I get confirmation that I will receive the points match at yhe end of the year?

Mag

I have the same question, can someone please advise?

EG

You’re earning Qantas miles on an AC flight? Is that the best place to credit AC?

Biggest problem with Chase is shutdown without explanation or recourse.

UR

Chase reserve – how long after annual fee posted, can you downgrade?

Chaim

When Im looking for United award flights to Tel Aviv Im seeing about 44k for each way, is that makes sense?

Danfan

I find it hard to see the significance of this offer, I spend $6k on a new ink and I make 99k instead of 18K points… to match the ink offer I’d have to spend $15K in a drugstore or 10K at Lyft….

Mark

I have the Freedom Unlimited Business. Do I need to convert it to get this?

yy

Why did you downgrade to Freedom Visa rather than Freedom Flex? Freedom Flex gives 3X at drugstores, which becomes 7X this quarter if you use it via Paypal at CVS. The only advantage to Freedom Visa that I know of is that you can use it at Costco.

Isaac

If i downgrade from unlimited before paying the bill will the points be given as Freedom only at 1 point per dollar? meaning should i wait to for the statement to close or pay the bill and then downgrade?

KG

I think if you are going to spend a ton sure but if not I don’t think it is amazing. Most SUBS can net over 60k so you’d have to spend quite a bit of money to get to 30k under most scenarios to then make it 60.

M

I was at 5/24 and was just approved

David

if you don’t spend on the 3 or 5 points categories, up to $60k of annual spend your better off getting the business unlimited for 90k bonus!

Shalom

Do you know when this offer will end? Currently have the unlimited and want to downgrade and then reopen it

Mark

I had my private client advisor check with her internal credit card services department and they said that the promotion will be available until December 31.

It took me 3 days to downgrade my existing Freedom Unlimited to a Freedom Flex. I applied for a Freedom flex card today and was told that it would take two weeks to get a decision. I called the lending department and was instantly approved as long as I moved existing credit onto this card.

D

Is the doubling of points exclusive to Dans Deals?

KC

Dan, can you please confirm that all points accumulated will be doubled for first year, including points earned through charges on additional cardholders/authorized users? Thanks!

Dave

@Dan do cash advances also get the intro apr promo of 0%?

Dumb question

What’s the difference between all these chase cards you’re posting. They seem pretty similar

VT

If you just pay your minimum payment per the statement, which is about 1% of the balance and pay off the balance by the end of the promotional period you are essentially getting a 15 month interest free revolving line of credit. 0% APR (on purchases) for 15 months is crazy in today’s interest rate environment.
Thanks Dan.

Lakewoodrocky

That will kill your credit score

C

Opening a Freedom Unlimited together (same time/day) with a chase Ink would work ? how many pulls ?

oirach

yes
2

yechiel exler

when is this promotion ending? also will i be eligible for this offer if i have a freedom unlimited open now?

Toby

Is there a foreign transaction fee

AL

I need to downgrade my Freedom Unlimited to what card? Freedom Flex? It is not clear in your post.

shaya

If I just applied for another business unlimited and did not get approved right away. should I try for this one or it wont be approved?

Sam

Is it bypassing 5/24? Thanks!

.

Is there any difference when product changing, to change to freedom or freedom flex?

Bib

Just secured message to downgrade from Freedom unlimited. However I have pending points. Once product is switched will those pending points still post at the 1.5 rate?

Charles

@DAN
When Chase generally says ending soon, historically, how long is it? a week?Based on your experience, 2 weeks?do I still have time to downgrade and apply?

bob

I downgraded the Unlimited to Flex and applied after 1 day (as its ending soon didn’t want to miss it) and got denied with reason in mail 7-10 days. I don’t see a credit pull. Does this mean it was denied because they think I still have the unlimited? I’m not sure how quickly a credit pull shows up (checked a few banks)

C

Hi Dan. I want to open both the Freedom unlimited and the Saphire preferred, and have the bifecta. Do you suggest I do it at the same time or wait between apps? If so how long?
Not sure it makes a difference but I was pre approved for both cards on my chase account (although I will opening the freedom unlimited through your link and through my account so I can get this offer)…
Thanks in advance!

NateG

Dan, I currently have a Freedom Unlimited. Question: If I call Chase to convert to a Freedom and then again two days later to convert back to the Unlimited (to take advantage of this offer), because of the two days my account was a Freedom, will I receive a new Freedom card in the mail? (which will be useless because the account will have reverted back to an Unlimited..)

AV

Hi,
Chase isn’t letting me convert my freedom unlimited to another card bec recently did a product change on that card. Is there a point in applying?

B

Dan, I was approved for the Freedom unlimited so thanks! But I dont see that I was approved for the special offer as it doesnt show up in the card benefits summary. How can I check and make sure I was approved for it and will receive the points at the end of the year? Tia!

Seth

Is there a way to confirm that the offer is attached to the account once it’s approved?

DebStep

Monday is a holiday, not a business day.
Therefore, if I switch my Freedom Unlimited today, when would I apply for the new one? Do you think the great offer will still be available?
Thanks

Yehuda

Will this offer go again or probably not.

Teddy

If I just opened a freedom unlimited with a different link (I wasn’t aware of this offer) is there a way for me to get chase to apply this offer to my account instead of the standard $200 sub?

Y

Already have a Freedom Unlimited card, but applied under my wife’s info and was approved (was thinking of switching my Unlimited to another Freedom card but didn’t get to do that earlier), and will use that card for the next year instead of the one I already have.

Thanks Dan!!

matovu

Done.
Thanks for everything

Josh

Martin

Under Card convertibility: you list 5 cards. One of them is the ‘Chase freedom unlimited card’.

How is that card different than the one being promoted in this article? It is also a Chase freedom unlimited card?

P.S. I applied through your link and was approved (after getting a call from fraud department)
I also only applied for one spouse as the sign up bonus is received on an AU as well. No need to use a 5/24 slot

Peanut butter chocolate flavor

What it means is that those 5 cards are changeable to each other, not that its a different card with the same name.

bob

Sheesh. Missed it as I was waiting on the 3 days. I’m guessing anyone who downgraded after Dan’s final post missed out because there wasn’t enough time between then and now. I called recon as I had a denied application for having the same product but they said there is no way to reconsider based on such denial. Now, I called to undo the downgrade, it has to go to review with a wait of 7-10 days.

Am J

The link is still live it seems, are we certain that it is no longer available?

Burach

I applied for this offer on January 10, I was approved today. Do I have it? I don’t see anywhere in the benefits.

JR

I used the link and opened the card and was approved 1/10/24. I don’t have any other freedom cards so I am a new user yet when I called today they said they don’t see anything about “double the points for the 1st year” and when I log into my chase account I don’t see any mention of it either. Is it supposed to be indicated somewhere on my portal? Thank you

yoko

Dan,
Just to confirm, these points can be transferred to my SR card, correct?
