how does this compare to the new model that just came out – is it worth springing for the xbox one?

Really just depends if you want to pay $180 or $500+ to have the latest and greatest.
Both are excellent systems.
As far as video game deals go, the black friday 250GB PS3 bundled with The Last of Us and Batman Arkham Origins for $200 is one of the best values out there. The cheapest I’ve seen 250GB PS3 is $250 and that’s only bundled with one game.
Of course you need to decide if you prefer playstation or xbox exclusives and how much you value having the latest console.
I think Microsoft can’t handle the black friday shoppers, its full of errors.

I got the Xbox for $179 as advertised as well as a Microsoft Surface 32 gb tablet for $199 instead of $349. After I put in my CC info into the Microsoft website it just started crashing…since I did have an order number it only took over an hour on the phone to complete…but in the end it did work out.
I guess you know a deal is good when the website crashes. 🙂

probably asking too much, but can anyone give me a summary of pros and cons of this xbox 360 deal v the PS3 deal mentioned in Ctown’s posts, both compared with the newer models of each at reg prices (because i dont see any discounts on Xbox One or PS4). Thanks!
