Your score will temporarily go down, but from what i understand it shouldnt affect your score in a major way, and it shouldnt count at all against it after 6 months.

Why cancel the card break the card into 2, and keep it open with zero balance. Is there an annual fee on the card?

Was anyone approved instantly or did they say that you must wait for 30 days for approval?

try calling 1-800-932-2775 to see if you were approved after applying.
