Just a thought. If Hashem wants you to win a raffle, you would win with one ticket. You can’t win if you don’t buy any tickets, but to say that you’re luck is doubled it’s kind of taking the part out about believing the decision comes from above whether you win. It kind of makes me feel uncomfortable when I see these types of statements.
Yes and no.
The world works al pi teva. That means things work according to the odds of something happening and hishtadlus could mean getting better odds. Even more so when the purchase is going for tzedaka to help your case.
On the other hand, I agree that buying 2 powerball tickets would be foolish and might show a lack of emuna, as the odds don’t appreciably change there and there is no tzedaka redeeming factor.
