You can even book a mileage run if you want. For example you can depart BOS on 03/29 and return the same day for $61. There’s a flight via Houston on the outbound and Newark on the return. 2,900 redeemable and elite miles for the outbound. 2,625 miles for the return if you are not elite or 2,925 if you are elite.
In my case (Continental Platinum with a Presidential Plus credit card) I would get 2,900+2,925=5,825 miles. Double for being Platinum equals 11,650. Plus 25% for having the credit card makes 13,106. Plus 122 miles on the Continental credit card double miles for a grand total of 13,228. That’s like buying miles at 0.46 cents each when they’re worth 3 to 4 times that! If only I lived in Boston or San Diego!

Do you really want to spend a day of your life on a disgusting 737 for some miles? Seems like time with family and friends are worth more than some crappy miles on a crappy airline.
