With the backing of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, Agudath Israel of America has taken up the cause of the Jewish communities scattered throughout Ukraine, together with the Shma Yisroel Foundation, under the leadership of R’ Shlomo Noach Mandel.

Since its founding a century ago, the Agudah has been working tirelessly on behalf of Jews around the world.

The Agudah has been networking with various organizations involved with the kehillos in Ukraine. Many Jews have, Baruch Hashem, managed to flee the warzone. However, there are still many Jews who must be evacuated.

In addition, thousands of Jewish refugees require food and basic necessities.

There is a desperate need for funds to help Ukrainian Jewry. The cost to evacuate each individual can be over $10,000. One bus can cost a few hundred thousand. They also need to be provided with food and shelter once they arrive at their destination.

The situation in Ukraine is getting more difficult with each passing hour, and it is vital that we evacuate everyone before it will be too late.

This money will be distributed among the various organizations so that every single dollar will be put toward helping the refugee families.

We have pledged to match the first $5 million that are donated

Please partner with us in this most important cause. May Hashem protect

Klal Yisrael, and may we only hear good news.

This is a tremendous undertaking, but we should be taking on more, a LOT more. This is an issue of PIKUACH NEFESH for tens (if not hundreds) of THOUSANDS OF YIDDEN, on a scale not seen since WWII. We can and must do more. By contrast, Keren HaShviis has asked that each donor contribute at least $1,200 and had a fundraising goal of $66M for this Shmitta. There are a few thousand farmers in Eretz Yisroel. There are at least 10 TIMES as many Yidden in Ukraine. They are Acheinu Bnei Yisroel.

Every family that can should be giving NOT $500, but AT LEAST $5000. And those who can should give more. Give your Matanos Le’Evyonim and Maos Chittim money–our brothers and sisters in Ukraine need food (and other basic necessities) for Purim and Pesach, and need our financial support just to be able to make it to Purim and Pesach.

5,000? Psh! Every family should give 500,000 – at least! And if you can afford it, 5,000,000.

Boots on the ground … I think this is great … would love to see some transparency that always seems missing with certain charities and the money is diverted to general funds of the charity. Boots on the ground … can we help get buses etc and the cost of evacuation down ? Then we can rescue more people

That music in the background is ridiculous… can’t focus on the Rabbis message.

I know, right! Whether it’s a yeshiva fundraising video, an annual dinner, or a tzedaka request, the cliche’ superhero music is overkill. I tried to listen to an inspirational message by Rav Bender the other week ago, but thr Spiderman music cheapened the purpose of the shiur (and ironically, the discussion was about mindfulness in Yidishkite)
