Kind of a maris ayin thing. The same way some people won’t have veggie burgers with cheese or tuna melts because it might look like bosor v’cholov, some people want to be careful that no one thinks that actual cream or butter is kosher to have with meat. So they won’t eat cream of corn or peanut/almond butter at a fleishig meal. I also know a guy who won’t drink Wild Turkey with milchigs.

It seems a little magzim to me, but I suppose you can never be too careful. Though if you’re a Yiddish-speaker and you call peanut butter סטאַשקעשמיר, does the חשש go away because you’re not directly calling it butter / פוטער???
