Update: This offer ends today!

Originally posted on 7/13:

Back in 2019 American and Hyatt teamed up for reciprocal benefits:

  • AA elites earn 1 AA mile for every eligible dollar spent at qualifying Hyatt properties.
  • AA top-tier ConciergeKey members will receive top-tier World of Hyatt Globalist status.
  • Hyatt elites earn 1 Hyatt point mile for every eligible dollar spent on qualifying American flights.

Additionally many Hyatt Globalists, myself included, were given AA Executive Platinum status. That status has been extended due to COVID and will be fairly easy to extend yet again.

You can link your AA and Hyatt account here on AA.com or here on Hyatt.com.

Linked members can register for a challenge to earn reciprocal elite status. Don’t register until you’re ready to travel or until registration closes!

The World of Hyatt credit card is an excellent card and comes with annual free nights, elite status, and promotions. You can read more about the World of Hyatt card here. Cardholders also get bonus points for staying at Hyatt hotels and can earn elite status through spending.

  • World of Hyatt elites can register by September 30, 2021 and upgrade their AAdvantage status. Offers will vary based on your current Hyatt and American status.
    • You will earn the higher status within 7 days of completing the applicable challenge.
    • This activity is earned when a member flies on eligible tickets for flights marketed and operated by American Airlines or American Eagle.
    • Read more about AA elite benefits here.

Will you take advantage of these elite status challenges?

I’m assuming the bonus 250 or 500 EQDs on each flight taken from the recent AA promos won’t count?
