Update: Registration for the new Bonus Journeys promotion is now open. Hyatt members will get triple points on 2+ night stays from 7/20-9/15.

Hyatt normally awards 5 points per dollar spent, so you’ll earn 15 points per dollar spent with this promo. Additionally, elites will earn their standard 0.5-1.5 bonus points per dollar spent and Chase World Of Hyatt Credit Cardholders also earn 4 points per dollar spent on their card.

Originally posted on 6/15:

Hyatt Off-peak and peak point redemption was supposed to go into effect on 3/22/20, but has been postponed multiple times due to the pandemic.

Hyatt tells me they have decided to push off those changes until mid-October with peak and off-peak pricing starting for stays in March 2022 and beyond.

Here is what the new award chart will look like when those changes do go into effect, with peak and off-peak pricing:

Hyatt will also suspend the expiration of points through 12/31/21. Hyatt points normally expire after 24 months of inactivity, so points will begin to expire on 1/1/22 if you didn’t earn or redeem any points in 2020 or 2021.

Hyatt previously extended free nights earned in 2020 with 2021 expiration dates to 12/31/21 and lowered elite status requirements.

On 7/7, Hyatt members will be able to register for a new Bonus Journeys promotion. Hyatt members will get triple points on 2+ night stays from 7/20-9/15.

As previously announced, World of Hyatt cardholders can register for 25% back on award stays at select properties.

Targeted members can also register for 1,000 bonus American miles on stays through 7/31.

Hey Dan, is this a good card for someone who has no credit cards yet but is looking to travel a lot and stay in hotels…and save money?
