Virgin Australia will partner with United starting in April 2022. The airline had previously partnered with Delta.

It will give United passengers access to Australia connections and Virgin Australia passengers access to connections on United.

There will be reciprocal elite benefits, lounge access, and the ability to earn and redeem miles between both airlines.

Australia was a giant hole in the Star Alliance network. Earlier this year Virgin Australia partnered with Air Canada, so it’s great to see more Star Alliance carriers partner up with Virgin Australia!

I am quite sad. It is the only day flight JFK-London all the rest are night flights. Anyone knows other day flights that credit to Delta?

I think you’re confusing with Virgin Atlantic.
And yes, a US-Europe morning flight is unique.
