    1: You need a tri-band or quad band world phone as listed above.
    2: You will need to unlock the phone to work with non-AT&T SIM cards. Many stores offer this service for about $10-$15 or you can search online or on ebay to buy the codes and do it yourself.

    Some brands are easier than others so search first for an unlock code for the model before you buy.

    Hi Dan, I just purchased the LG Prime – GoPhone from ATT but I have 2 questions though. First, can I switch my SIM card out from my current phone and into the new one. Second, although I just chose some random plan, will I get charged in any way once I switch my phone.

    Thanks

    About getting a phone to use in Israel. . . What would the rates be? Who would be the carrier in Israel? What type of stores would unlock the phone for me? (I know silly question but are we talking Walmart or Verizon type stores?) If I get the LG Neon are those $50 of prepaid minutes good overseas? Does the phone have an expiration date? (I have an old Go Phone that if you didn’t use the minutes by a certain date or reload with more, the phone was unusable, ie they wouldn’t let me reactivate it.– Now that may have been because it was a $10 phone)

    @ac:
    -You need to get an international or Israeli SIM card. Search on http://www.dansdeals.com/forums for lots of info on the best Israeli and international SIM cards.
    -Any independent cell phone store can probably help you wit unlocking the phone, you can also look on ebay for unlock codes and instructions for specific models.
    -I believe that the $50 is only good on the AT&T network, not sure if it works on other networks or not.
    -The phone wont expire, but the SIM card may. Usually you have 90 days to use minutes and then if you let it expire you have 90 days to refill or you will have to reactivate the sim card.

    @ac:
    Click on the gophone link to see all phones and each phone displays how much bonus airtime funds that it includes.

    @Sol:
    You’ll have to call a store that does unlocking or contact an ebay seller, etc.
    But yes, you can use the SIM from the 2330 in the 6085 and save the $20 reactivation fee.

    @how:
    The bonus airtime doesn’t show up separately in your cart, it will ship with the phone though.
    If you go to the regular gophone page with all the phones displayed it says which phones have the bonus airtime.

    The plan is a Sim card it does not cost anything just put your own Sim card in when the phone arrives.
