HOT! Get 25,000 Points For Signing Up For A Chase Sapphire Preferred Card!
Update: Even with already having 3 other personal Chase cards (Continental Presidential Plus MC, United Visa, and Chase Freedom) I was able to get instant approval on the Sapphire Preferred card!
With 25,000 points on this card you can:
-Get a plane ticket worth up to $312.50.
-Transfer the points into BA or Continental miles, or Marriott or PC hotel points at a 1:1 ratio.
-Get a $250 refund check.
The card has a $95 annual fee, which is waived for the first year.

Where’s the info about the refund check found?
July 5th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
how do you get the refund check?
July 5th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Wait, so technically we can open this card, then book ourselves a 300 dollar ticket, and then cancel the card before we get the fees?

Click on view all benefits.
@jake:

DAN OR Anyone who knows
I AM JUST CURIOUS CAN YOU ASSUME THAT IF THEY SAY AFTER MY APPLICATION “We are currently reviewing your application. You will be notified in writing about the status of your application within 30 days, as required by law.”
THAT YOU ARE NOT ACCEPTED?
July 5th, 2009 at 6:38 pm
@aaron:
That’s not what that means.
July 5th, 2009 at 7:32 pm
@aaron
it has happened to me with the Chase cards and I’ve been approved both times (Chase Freedom and United) Hopefully will get approved again for this card. But Im curious, maybe Dan you know, why this happens? With my AMEX cards Im always instantly approved…

Dan, Could I apply for this card (or any other cc) and get it sent to me, if I’m living in Europe or Israel?
July 6th, 2009 at 5:59 am
Dan — Where does it list the Frequent Flyer & Hotel Programs you can transfer to at a 1 : 1 Ratio? I’ve looked everywhere, even downloaded the 16 page pdf “Card Benefits” document, & I cant seem to find it.
Any help is much appreciated!

Maybe I can’t read well, but I did a search on the benefits page and couldn’t find the refund check info- can you paste here?
July 6th, 2009 at 8:40 am
Dan what are the maximum amount of amex cards you can have – I just got denied and they wrote I have the max amount – should I cancel some cards so I can churn?
July 6th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
@Todd:
There’s a picture of the transfer screen in the travel/transfer points section here:
http://demo.chaseultimaterewards.com/?demo=2&shell=I&chapter=0&source=sapmsT2
@Daniel:
“Rewards Check
Use points for a cash-back rewards check starting at 5,000 points for $50.”
@c:
I’ve seen reports of 2 or 4 AMEX cards being the current limit.
If you want a different card or want to churn you’d have to close it down and wait 30 days before reapplying.

July 6th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
@michael:
Im sure it will be a Visa or MC.
July 7th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
Can I apply and then have my wife apply for same card?
July 7th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Dan thanks for the link to the Picture of the Demo Transfer Screen, but I am still clueless as to what programs you can actually transfer Points to on a 1-to-1 Ratio.
I’m not interested in which programs you can redeem for gift cards, but which Loyalty Programs you can Transfer Points to 1 to 1. Anybody have any clue? Any help is much appreciated!
July 7th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
THERE IS NO 1 to 1 TRANSFER FOR HOTELS WITH THIS CARD!
Just got off the phone with them. What you get is a $100 voucher per 10,000 points toward a stay with Marriot, Hyatt Etc. When I compllained about this, they didn’t have any response.

@happy:
Why not?
@Fitz Mitzvah:
Right, Chase must be lying when they advertise the 1:1 benefit on their site.
Obviously the single uninformed phone rep you reached must be correct…
July 10th, 2009 at 11:53 am
Just got approved instantly. Looking forward to getting the card.
July 12th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
They are now offering only 15,000 points. Does anyone have a copy of the original offer for 25,ooo points?
July 12th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
You may be able to still get 25K points by calling Chase at 1-800-730-9710 and asking for 25K points.
July 14th, 2009 at 3:38 am
Also, unless you ask for it to be waived, you will be charged the annual fee for the first year.
Got my card yesterday. For those who asked it’s a Visa.
July 14th, 2009 at 11:22 am
thanks called the 800# and got 25k and no annual fee.
July 15th, 2009 at 10:56 am
Right you are, Dan – There is a transfer option, point for point for just the following:
You can ONLY transfer to the following programs, the rest are vouchered as I mentioned before:
Continental Airlines,
British Airways
Marriott International
InterContinental Hotels Group – also mentioned on flyertalk the possibility of Southwest – not sure how, though
(1 Ultimate Rewards point = 1 travel rewards point)
