Does this work for rooms booked using priceline or other third party booking sites?
April 20th, 2009 at 8:33 am
hey dan. do the first two stays have to be in the same property?
April 20th, 2009 at 9:42 am
@moshe:
No, it’s only for paid stays.
@JustDownTheHall:
It will not work for priceline/hotwire.
It should work for regular 3rd party sites, but considering that spg.com has a best rate guarantee why wouldn’t you book directly from spg.com?
@juniorbochur:
No, they can be in any property.

What is the chaepest starwood in the tristate area for a matress run.
April 20th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
@Jeff. Try Weekends which tend to be cheeper and search on SPG. It will show you all properties in the tri-state area by typing in the basic metro areas (NYC) and further out in Connecticut and NJ if your interested.

If you book a room and do not show up, will it qualify for the free weekend night award ? If that doesn’t qualify, can I send someone else to use the reservation. If you use the Starwood 50% off coupon, will that stay be eligible >
April 20th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
Call the hotels and ask for a day rate, most of them are cheaper.
April 20th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
But do day rates qualify?
April 20th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
#1. If you book a res and don’t show up it will not count as a stay.
#2. You can book a res and have someone else check in and it will count as a stay.
#3. A res using the 50% off coupon (spg50) will not count as a stay.
#4. From my past experience day rate do give you stay credits.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:46 pm
Can anyone confirm that a day rate will count as a eligible stay?
April 20th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
FYI- A %50 off coupon DOES count as a stay
April 20th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Sorry my mistake, SPG50 does give you a stay credit
April 21st, 2009 at 1:28 am
As far as I know the 50% off coupons only get you 50 off full rack rate
April 21st, 2009 at 1:32 am
@levi
@anon
OR @ DAN
1- Which hotels in the tri state area have day rates for $35?
2- What hours would be considered day rates?
3- Would the hotel guarantee you that it would be a eligible stay?
THANKS!!

you can booc at the four points in Arizona for $64 per night 4/25-5/23 totla cost $2106 which gets you 15 free weekend stays.
April 21st, 2009 at 10:12 am
Elie, there are 2 problems. Unless you live in Arizona, you have to fly down there for 4 weeks. Secondly, since they are consecutive nights it would only count for one stay.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:29 pm
You could check in and out every day for 4 weeks , of course you’d have to have 4 weeks to spare
April 21st, 2009 at 12:43 pm
@E:
Actually you can’t.
If you check-in on consecutive days you’ll only get 1 stay credit as they will be lumped together.
You would have to check-in sunday, check-out monday, and then check-in tuesday, check-out wednesday.
Alternatively you could also check-in to a different hotel on that monday and keep switching back and forth every day between hotels.
April 21st, 2009 at 2:03 pm
@Elie It starts May 1st so the stay on 4/25 wouldnt be very useful
