last week I had a special targeted promo $60 off any kindle, it was a one time only, customer specific promo. Seems like they are trying really hard to sell them. I got the Fire HDX 7″, pretty happy with it, first tablet I have purchase, for $170 I couldn’t pass it up.
FYI, the sale does not include paperwhite.

I was able to have the promo applied against a paperwhite by requesting it through chat.

@Hoko: I added the paperwhite to my cart and then used Help->Contact Us to initiate a chat with the agent. Help said that the code was not for valid for paperwhite but that they would give me a $15 promotional credit for the paperwhite. The credit cappeared in my cart instantly. Good luck!
