Gift Card Deal Next Week At Staples

Page 11 of next week’s Staples ad shows a $15 Visa prepaid card for buying $150 or more in Visa prepaid cards.

You get the $15 prepaid card via filling out an online EasyRebate. Limit of 1 per household.
I know that the $200 Visa card they sell has a $6.95 fee.

If you have an Ink Bold, Ink Plus, or Ink Cash card of course you earn 5 Ultimate Rewards points for every dollar you spend at office supply store like Staples, so you’ll come out ahead 1,035 points and $8.05.

Plus of course it helps you reach that $5,000 spend threshold to earn 50,000 bonus points on the Ink Bold or Ink Plus.

Even without the $15 prepaid card rebate it can make sense to buy $200 Visa cards on Ink cards.

Last time I scaled this quite nicely. Still working on all of the Amazon Payments from it, gotta go finish my February spending tonight!

avi

can you do this more than once?

Mileswhore

In essence $191.95 for $200 gift card and the bonus points.

Easy rebates should qualify for a check, instead of a gift card as well, yes?

jason

are these cards like the amex pre paid and are able to be used to withdraw cash with no fees at an atm?

mike

DAN it says one rebate per household. So can only get one per person or is there a way around this one?

“Limit 1 rebate per household. Subject to availability. See gift cards for details, terms and conditions and (if applicable) fees. All trademarks are properly of their respective owners. The Visa gift card is issued by Metabankâ„¢, member FDIC pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc.”

Dan

@jason:
No, but you can cash out via Amazon Payments trick listed here: http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/25499

Online

Can these be bought online?

Pete

What’s the limit amt can you buy?

Yosef

on the one per household – does that officially mean $15 per household or 15 per every 150 that I buy at one time? just looking at your post from the last time and you clearly were being told that you could get much more than 15 per household – unless the rules were different that time? Thx!

Dan

It’s officially just one $15 card per household.

Explain

Why isn’t it unethical and borderline stealing if you do more than one per household?

Being creative doesn’t mean being ethical.

mike

DAN what are some of your creative ideas to get around one per household?

todah

dan dont u love the comments

Anonymous

Why would u buy the 200 one instead of 150? Unless they don’t sell?

Big boy

Hey Dan,
Do you think they’ll be more careful this time?

Chaim Yankel Millerbar

So in the essence this is a whole run around to make $8 dollars? Forsure in Boro Park the stores will not carry this deal I am not thinking it is worth it to travel all the way to Kiryas Yoel to make $8 dollars.

Peretz770

So is it limited to $15? In other words, let’s say I buy $400 in gift cards, I’ll still only get a $15 gift card?

bm

@Anonymous: $50 X 5 Chase ink points

bm

@Chaim Yankel Millerbar: To meet spending requirements / Some points on chase business cards.

andy

Can we keep going back to the store or do they have a way of tracking 1 per household?

martin

It looks like there giving a [b]$15 visa[b] gift card
This can not be flipped to Cardpool

1- ita only 15 dollar and they only by cards over $25
2- its a visa, that thay don’t seem to flip

DAN am I right?

mimi K.

@andy Your address ? you must submit the rebate!
@Peretz770 thats what it says. However if you have more than one household and you buy the cards separately….
@BigBoy They are it one per household instead of 10
And its $15 for $150 not $100

Gary

@mimi K.: page 12 on some other Staples stores

BK

@martin Why would you want to flip a prepaid visa??

Yidel Wolf

@Chaim Yankel Millerbar:

“Forsure in Boro Park the stores will not carry this deal”
There are no Staples stores in Boro Park for sure or “Forsure”!

chaim

Will this deal be avail online or just in store?

RK

It says one per household. Can we buy two (one on my name and the other one is on my Wife’s name) and submit rebates separately. May be I can put APT in one address and UNIT in the other address.

ED

Where is the proper place to ask mileage questions? Here?

tina

you dont have to go to staples to buy this to get $15 prepaid card, go to officemax, go to target, show them proof and they match you with instant $15 visa gift card for buying $150 or more in VC. no need to file any stupid rebates or anything, you don’t even have to step in staples store. just show the paper with the offer they will gladly match you.

you can buy these all day and get unlimited $15 visa gift cards for FREE

Bob

Dan, I see your not quick to answer the household question, but do you have any problems registering multiple rebates to one address?

Yaks

@tina
Look in their terms and conditions almost all stores exclude price matching on gift cards. Even if you don’t see it specified in the t&c almost all managers will tell you that it’s excluded…. At least in my experience.

Yaks

@ all the household questions
Staples won’t honor more more than one per household their rebate dept has a way of tracking if you submit more than one per household.

pinny

the correct page online is page 12

tina

BOB, last year, i made almost $150 in free money by going to several target and officemax store with staple’s ad in one day.

they don’t read everything, they just need proof of some competitor’s deal ad.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO TO STAPLES STORE AT ALL TO MAKE FREE UNLIMITED $15 VISA GCS.

eli

@Online: any update on this, can it be bought onlne ?

abe

anybody tried purchasing more then 1? How about the rebate anybody tried doing it more then once?

A

You could buy as many u want, but you will only get 1 rebate of $15 gift card,
if u submit more than 1 rebate per address it will invalidated and denied!
@abe:

joe

did anybody try doing the more then rebate once?

Mileswhore

Confirmed you can have a check sent as an option – screw the gift card 🙂

usher

does this work online? and can i get the $200 GC online?

tailfin

@Mileswhore: Sorry, Mileswhore, the check is issued at the option of Staples, not your option. You don’t get a choice. Read the Terms & Conditions: “Staples reserves the right to substitute a check of equal value in lieu of a Visa prepaid card at its discretion.” Not your discretion, their discretion.

ddawg

Any problem with buying gift cards with same CC on different transactions, and sending rebate to different adresses? In other words will they look and see that all adresses used for rebate were done with same CC?

abe

Anyone found $200 visa cards? my local store only had $100 and $50

ddawg

@abe: found plenty out in long island

David R

@tailfin: Whether you submit the rebate using the paper form or online, you have the option to choose a check or a Staples gift card in lieu of the Visa prepaid card. The clause you quoted is merely a way out for Staples in case you opted for a Visa prepaid card and they can’t send you one for some reason.
