NEVER, no matter how cheap, EVER buy an iron without auto shut off.
The danger is way too great. It is not worth the occasional annoyance of needing to turn it back on, when you wanted it to stay on and not turn off. (For example, when using an iron to make the grilled cheese sandwiches)
