just read in the questions that it does NOT turn off automatically. which is great for shabbat, but also a potential fire hazard.
Nothing is the same as a metal pot,but these are very handy. Put it up Thursday night and it is ready Shabbos morning. Can put it up Friday but won’t be as Cholenty.
For those who like a crock pot chulent this is very good, but by me it comes up used, new is $40
