The real question is can you pre order chametz?

Serious question

Abe

Not so simple, ask your LOR

Dave

I’d think ‘yes’ for several reasons. 1. You aren’t acquiring any chometz. Until they deliver it and you accept, it’s not yours. 2. You/the establishment have the ability to cancel or refuse the order before delivery and acquiring the food. I had an ‘issue’ with electronics which I ordered and delivered on Chol Hamoed Pesach, as the retailer included promoted items (such as shampoo, toothpaste, and granola bars). As I didn’t order or willingly “accept” the granola bars, they went right into the trash.

Marc

If the credit card is charged today- it’s a Sheila if it’s a considered a kinyan even from one who is not metzuveh b’mitzvos.

Joe

I asked and researched this and for many reasons it wasn’t an issue. (Food isn’t made or even owned by the supplier until after Pesach, payment isn’t made until after, order can by canceled and modified infinitely until day of, etc) But you can still ask someone you trust for clarification.

Marc

Modifying or canceling doesn’t change your ownership status prior to doing so.

Marc

The question of whether one may pre purchase chametz is understandably only being asked if the chametz in existence on pesach.

YM

If I’m not mistaken the purchase is only actually technically made on the day of the order?

Darrell Martinsen

When does this code expire?

JW

Yeah, I was just going to ask, what are the terms or deadlines. I tried using it and it won’t work for me, so I’m guessing they have a limited amount of redemptions.

Charlez

How do we add the code? I don’t see how to anywhere

hank

Any cheap ways to get dashpass? Yuge fees without…

Marc

Dan

It’s not charged now.

Darrell Martinsen

Trying to schedule 2 orders for 2 different days and it keeps trying to Double Dash the order. Any ideas?

El Capitan

Letter of the law, maybe.

Spirit? No way

Petzel

+100

Ben

-1 last I checked every Rabbi selling chometz tells the goy exactly what time to meet him after Pesach. Most Shuls have listed a specific time that you can eat your sold chometz.

El Capitan

Correct, but I don’t think they tell them that on pesach, rather before.

Either way that’s for a whole community. Please enjoy it and have me in mind if you do use it

JR

Divaxdd worked none the others for me

Moshe

Assuming that you are ordering from a kosher restaurant the food doesn’t even exist now if that has an effect on the shaila. Can you even place an order for something from a closed restaurant with Doordash?

jak

nothing worked for me!

MARTY

Latest future delivery is Friday, so, if you’re away for Yom Tov, this won’t work for you.

David

Nothing works for me

JR

same seems dead since this am.

puzzlefighter

Seemed to work yesterday as it applied a discount, but none of the codes work any longer.
