THANK!!! YOU!!!

Hirsch

Got one. Thank you.

joe

no stainless steal chalah bowl?

Dan

@joe:
You can upgrade to one if you want, see the post.

Kl

No stainless bowel? This is no deal!

Dan

@Kl:
Stainless bowels? That’s impressive, I gotta say!

In all seriousness. Please tell me where you can get a better deal for this. $299 with no tax for the machine with plastic bowl is an excellent deal as is $439 with no tax for the machine + plastic bowl + stainless bowl.

Maybe

I am not sure but I think you can get stainless bowel locally for about $50?

Dan

@Maybe:
1. Please stop writing bowel. You’re killing me here.
2. Please don’t speculate on things that you’re not sure about.

Maybe

@Dan sorry I am to tired

:)

Stainless Bowel… Loool….pretty painful

Yitzi

Why do you is the stainless steel bowl better for challah? The plastic says it’s 6.5 qt while the stainless steel bowl is 5.5 qt

Doris

Where is bowl for that price? I only see it for $168.83 & it comes with dough hook but who needs an extra hook?

C

What’s the warranty on this buying from amazement?

r

Been using the plastic bowl for 5 lbs. Of challash for yrs and never had a problem!

chana k

The plastic bowl is for making cakes. It has the appropriate beater. The metal bowl is for making heavy doughs. It works with a dough hook. There is a link above for a metal bowl without a dough hook. The link above for the mixer says it comes with a dough hook, although the picture doesn’t show it.
The cake bowl has a stem up the middle so the mixing blade sits on top and mixes from the top. In the metal dough bowl the dough hook gets attached in the middle of the floor of the bowl, so it mixes from the bottom of the dough.

Nechuma

@Doris: when using the metal bowl the dough hook that comes with the machine doesn’t fit. It needs the dough hook that comes with the bowl. It’s a different mechanism.

ASDF

Is this stainless bowl the same thing just without the cover which comes with the plastic bowl anyway? thanx http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-MUZ6SB4-Stainless-Steel-Bowl/dp/B002UW45IE/ref=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&qid=1448894402&sr=8-31&keywords=bosch+universal+plus+mixer

Riki

The metal bowl is a waste of money. Plastic works perfectly fine for challah, been using it for years!

Anonymous

The bowl says it does NOT include the hook. Will I need to get a separate hook if I get the metal bowl?

chana

The metal bowl says it does not come with a hook. Will I need to buy a separate hook if I want to use the metal bowl?

leah

@Nechuma: SO I need to buuy a hook as well?

Anonymous

Why does everyone buy into the jewish store upsell marketing?
The plastic bowl and included dough hook work just fine.

Freilich

Hi im a technician for the bosch & im telling you dont use the plastic bowl for chalos & only get the muz6er1 ss bowl for chalos

Nina

Freilich- does the muz6er1 have the shaft up the middle of the bowl? Also, does the hook that fits into the plastic fit into the muz6er1

Leah in Va

Can you use a recipe with 5 pounds of flour? I have a more compact version that doesn’t hold that much flour.

Freilich

@Riki: you’re totally wrong using the new Bosch mixer`s plastic bowl to make five pounds of flour challah dough,and not the metal bowl will break the mixer very fast, this happened to me and to my Friends, buyer be aware,according to the company that repairs the mixers for Bosch its not recommended to make more than 2 1/2- 3 pounds of flour in the plastic bowl at a time, if you want to make five pounds at time you must use the metal bowl Model MUZ6ER1 otherwise the mixer breaks,people don’t know this,they find out the hard way, but this is the fact.

KF

The buzz is selling the mixer for the same price.

says

the plastic bowl only takes ‘upto’ 5 lbs. flour. For challah baking it is much better to use the ss bowl.
DB has the ss bowl for $150 with hook which you must have for the ss bowl, you can’t mix and match.

Dan

@KF:
Matching the Cyber Monday sale?
No sales tax online from Amazon and Overstock though+free shipping to your doorstep.

Freilich

@Nina: The answer for both questions is NO because the dough hook is on the bottom. you can get the metal bowl in all Heimisha electronic stores that sells the bosch.

says

DB 489.99 no tax. free shipping. complete set

Dan

@says:
$21 cheaper on Amazon, also no tax. Plus 10x Freedom/AMEX 25%.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031Y990Y/?tag=cl03f-20

Nina

The buzz sells the as bowl for 129$ with the hook. You can order it on their website

Freilich

@Nina: Thats a great price

Zei Freilich…….

Yehuda

Bed Bath and Beyond now sells this Bosch mixer.

Their regular price is $399, but you could use the online 20% off coupon (you get emailed to you if you sign up), that would bring it down to $319.
Some people would rather pay the extra $20 to buy it from Bed Bath and beyond, because they have a great return policy if something breaks.

They don’t yet sell the stainless steel bowl, but that you could buy in other places. (I believe the buzz electronics in Brooklyn sells it for $129).

Dan

@Yehuda:
Don’t forget to factor in tax into the calculation.

Also it has a 3 year motor warranty anyway and AMEX makes it 4 years.

Mike

@Dan
Thanks for the post! How did you calculate $439 for everything? $299.99 + 168.83 = $468.82

@ Freilich
Are you saying that just the Stainless bowl is required for Challa? How about the hook ?

Dogo

@dan please remove the lower priced stainless steal bowl. It’s the same size as the plastic one (the crowd that wants the metal bowl, wants it for the purpose of being able to make more in it).

Dan

@Dogo:
They both say 6.5 qt?

marie

thank youuuuu just ordered one waiting forever for it to go on sale never does !!

Dogo

I spoke to the bosch repairman and he agrees that the stainless steel bowl is not a good thing for the motor.

Dogo

@dan Yup

Dogo

They both say 6.5qt.
It is a totally different design.
The cheaper one is the same as the strong plastic one (included) and can fit the accessories.
The Bigger metal one does not have the middle stick so it has more room, however a special dough hook is needed since the attachments won’t fit.

Anonymous

@Mike: It comes with dough hook as posted
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0031Y990Y/?tag=cl03f-20

sr

the buzz is selling the complete set for 450
ss bowl with hook is 130

Dan

@sr:
With tax that comes out to be much more than Amazon.

Plus with Amazon you get 10x-11x (~16% back) on Freedom or 25% off with AMEX.

Though the bowl itself may be a better deal if you’re there.

Boro Parker

PLUG INS on 13&43 has the bowl with hook for $99 they will even toivil it for that price . The mixer is by them $389+tax

Dan

@Boro Parker:
Sounds like buying the mixer from Amazon the the bowl from them is the way to go if you live there.

JaimBirm

@Nina, just got the bowl at thebuzz for $129 and no shipping or tax. Thank you!

JaimBirm

@Nina, just got the bowl at thebuzz for $129 and no shipping or tax. Thank you!
The machine is $399 there

Freilich

@Dan: Dogo is 100% right please remove the lower priced stainless steal bowl cause it will only break the machine if you make chalah dough.

Thanks

Sharon

Thanks Dan!! Just got one with a stainless bowl from Amazon. Amazon did charge me tax, but I used my Freedom card so I get a percentage back on top of what I saved.

AC

25% with Amex is probably by buying gift cards. How do I get the extended warranty if I buy it with gift cards? Paying only $60 on 1 Amex and the rest with gift card will cover the full amount or only the $60?

Sharon

After reading this log now I”m confused. Some people said it’s a must for challah making to get the stainless steal bowl, and DOGO said not to get it. I often need to make 5lbs of flour at a time for my recipes. Can anyone comment on this please?? I did buy it with the SS bowl but I can save myself $80 if I don’t really need it. TIA

Anonymous

@Sharon: I hope you got the right ss bowl cause if not you can only make 2 1/2 lb flour….

Dogo

@Sharon the cheaper stainless bowl is a waste of a buy.
The more expensive one has more room.
(We personally have just the plastic one and have been making alb. in it for 4 years just fine).

Freilich

@Sharon: There are 2 types of ss bowls the one for $80 is not good for 5 lbs flower you need to get the other one Model # MUZ6ER1

Anonymous

@Anonymous: This one said it was for 6.5 qt. I got the bowl that Dan linked

Anonymous

@Dogo: What do you mean by cheaper stainless bowl???

Freilich

@Anonymous: But not for Chalah dough

Chevi

Is there another mixer out there that can do a 5lb challah dough? I’m dying for a bosch-type device, but do not buy German products…

Dan

@Chevi:
My wife has used the Kitchenaid Pro for over 7 years without issue,
http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/79799

Israel

@dan: Is the voltage universal? 110/220?

Fay @ Israel

Interested in 220v

Anonymous

@Anonymous: I cancelled my order with Amazon went with Overstock coz of the price. As for the SS bowl since it’s no metziah on Amazon I can wait.

Dan

@Anonymous:
Huh? Unless you’re in FL it’s the same price from both.

YY

How much does the Bosch cost usually? Does it go on sale around memorial day also? If there is a 3 year warranty, why is Amazon selling it?
Does the Kitchen-Aid Pro make challah with 5 lbs of flour? If yes, where is the best place to get that now?

Dan

@Dan: Thank you! Re: kitchenaid… Is she able to do all 5 lb of flour at the same time or does she have to do it in shifts? How many quarts does she have?

Dan

@Anonymous:
She has the 6 quart.

She does all 5 pounds at the same time, she just puts the liquid in first and then the flour.

S

How much does this Bosch usually cost?

Dan

@S:
$400

Michal

I just called Bosch customer service about the Bosch Universal Plus Kitchen Machine. I was told by the rep that this machine can make 12-14 lbs. of dough. She said said people buy the stainless steel bowl because the stainless steel bowls lasts longer than the plastic bowls. As for making 5 lb. of bread dough, the Bosch customer service rep said this Bosch with the plastic bowl is perfect.

Anonymous

@JaimBirm: I went on their website now & it says $149.99 for the SS bowl & hook. I wonder if they would match your price if I ask them. I Think they’re closed now.

chanie

Thanks! I’ve been saving up points for this quite a long time, and now that I heard it, grabbed it! paid $75 for bosch now!!

S

Any ideas how much longer this deal is on?

YY

Michal says she asked the Bosch rep if the machine can make 5 lb ‘bread dough’. That’s not the same as 5 lbs of flour. (maybe her typo?) Even if the machine can handle 12 lbs of dough, can it handle putting in 5 lbs of flour, 5 cups water, 4 eggs, 3 1/2 cups oil & sugar, and THEN letting the blades make dough all at once, as opposed to gradually adding ingredients? The plastic bowl and blades have a different configuration/layout than the ss bowl, with a stick or whatever u call it coming up the middle. Maybe this affects the strain on the motor… A question for Bosch…

c

when i put it in the cart the price jumps by a hundred bucks

Dan

Dead from Amazon, grab it from Overstock ASAP!

thejerseyguy

Dans Fan

anonymous
