Lifemiles can book flights from JFK to Lisbon in TAP Portugal business class for just 35K miles one-way.

Using the United legacy search, you can find excellent availability from October through December. Some dates have 8 business class seats available!

Unfortunately United.com no longer allows you to only search for JFK flights, so searching for JFK will include Newark flights and Lifemiles only charges 35K miles for flights from JFK to Lisbon. 77K nonstop dates have TAP availability, but you’ll need to see if they are JFK or Newark flights.

You can then book on Lifemiles.com for 35K miles one-way:

Sadly, this pricing only applies from JFK to Lisbon. The return prices at 63K Lifemiles.

It should be bookable 45K Turkish miles, though I couldn’t find any TAP space on the Turkish website, so you would have to try calling and hoping for the best as the Turkish call center is not very helpful.

You can save a few miles by going through Air Canada for the return:

Alternatively, you can book the round-trip for 88K ANA miles, which is what they charge for round-trip business class between the east coast and Europe. Unfortunately, they require round-trip travel.

Lifemiles used to price put jfk-zrh at 16k economy, it changed to 29k recently. Although business went down to 56k, and not 63k.

How come lifmiles doesn’t charge 35k from Newark as well ? Why does the airport matter ?

I can never get the legacy calendar to work. always get the same results- “There are no award flights on the date you selected.”

Justmeha

Also having issues with the legacy calendar

BT

How much extra miles would LIS-TLV be?

David

I tried to ticket two separate sets of dates with availability. Errored out each time and then ceased to show as available. This happened earlier today as well. Very glitchy.

Thanks Dan!
Any idea if this works for any dates in the near future. I checked for March but the flights were not showing up.
Thanks

Anything jb February 2024?

I see that signing up to LM you have to provide your national ID, that then becomes part of your log in. Is this considered safe? First time I see national id needs being part of a login id.

can book via Brussels JFK to BRU to LIS with wider dates up to 4 seats for the same price. I booked July next year.

Don’t know why but it’s been a while that I can’t log in to my LifeMiles account. It just keeps on searching & searching.

Just a minor correction – you can transfer Capital One miles from any Venture card including no AF VentureOne card. The earning on that card is lower (1.25 vs 2 miles per $1), but for transferring purposes it is as good as cards with AF (VentureX or Venture). So it is perfect for keeping your points if you are not spending on CapOne cards at the moment.
